Man’s question about common showering habit sparks row – people are disgusted
A man has started a huge online row with a simple question about showering.
Conor Arpwel was left baffled after discovering not everybody washes their legs when they're in the shower, so he decided to put the question out to a wider audience.
He created a poll on Twitter to conduct his research – and about 800,000 people have now responded.
His original post was just the question and a poll, but he's since released a 'statement' to confirm his views on the important issue.
He wrote: "My name is Conor Arpwel and I am a leg washer.
"Leg washing is an important component of my cleanliness regimen, but also I’m not out to get people who don’t wash their legs for various reasons.
"I only meant for this whole thing to be a fun & frivolous topic of conversation lol."
As it stands, 81 per cent of voters say they do wash their legs, while 19 per cent said no.
His post started a huge debate, with many arguing it was a waste of time while others were disgusted that some people didn't.
Some were baffled why this was even a even a question.
One wrote: "Are there people who do not feel the need to…. wash their legs……."
Another asked: "For the 19% who don’t wash their legs when they take a shower… when do you wash your legs?"
One woman commented: "A guy i knew in college once expressed surprise that people wash their backs “because the shower rinses the shampoo down my back!” and i’ve been thinking about it for ten years."
Others were just disgusted by the whole concept.
One wrote: "Everyone who voted no, think about all the toilet seats you’ve sat on and wash those thighs!"
Another commented: "I did not want to know that some people don't wash their legs."
Many admitted to not doing it.
One wrote: "I DO NOT (unless I'm shaving) AND I FEEL VINDICATED AND CONFIDENT THAT MY SKIN'S ESSENTIAL OILS ARE IN TACT."
Another justified his decision by saying: "They've been safe inside my pants, the whole day. What's the problem."
One woman wrote: "I feel like my legs don’t get dirty plus, soap and shampoo run down my legs when Im showering."
But other people had other questions.
"The real question is if people wash their dirty ears and behind them. Most people don’t. When I ask people they’re always surprised by it and say they never think to", wrote one man.
And others took valuable lessons from the bizarre feed.
One wrote: "I must say that after reading through this thread for the 3rd time, I took the most intentional shower of my life. Great tips, everyone."
