Harry Styles Put His Ex's Voicemail in a Song and Someone Translated It from French to English
Important update from he world of Harry Styles: you may have noticed that his new song “Cherry” features a voicemail message in French—and fans are convinced it’s a recording of Camille Rowe, Harry’s model girlfriend who he dated from 2017-2018.
Of course, this is completely unhelpful if you don’t speak French—but good news: someone on Genius has translated the voicemail to English. Here’s what it says :
While Harry hasn’t dropped Camille’s name, he told told Apple’s Zane Lowe that he asked permission for the voicemail to be used in the song. ‘When we listened back to the album, I asked her to add it in,” he said. “I wanted [“Cherry”] to reflect how I felt then. I was feeling not great. It’s all about being not great. Because, you get petty when things don’t go the way you want it. There’s parts that’s so pathetic.”
The song is pretty clear about the couple’s breakup based on lyrics like, “I just miss your accent and your friends / Did you know I still talk to them?” And honestly, my heart!
