Coronavirus victim reveals ‘I thought I'd die’ and ‘every part of my body’ was in agony during three-week battle
A CORONAVIRUS victim said “I thought I’d die” and suffered pain “every part of my body” during a three week battle with the killer bug.
The student, 21, going under the pseudonym of Tiger Ye, fell ill at his home in Wuhan – ground zero for the disease.
VIRUS HELL
Tiger knew something was wrong when he was too weak to finish dinner and suffered from a fever.
However, when he arrived at Tongi Hospital to be tested he was realised it could be hours and hours until he was diagnosed.
Cases were mounting up in the waiting room with dozens of people fearing they were infected.
He told Bloomberg: “'I suffered from a high fever and pains that tortured every part of my body.
“I was coughing like I was going to die.”
I suffered from a high fever and pains that tortured every part of my body. I was coughing like I was going to die.
Tiger waited for four angst and agony-filled days before he could return to hospital.
He said: "I suffered from a high fever and pains that tortured every part of my body."
During his check-up, CT scans revealed he had symptoms of coronavirus – and that it had spread to his lungs.
However, doctors refused to carry out tests that would confirm he had the virus, because they were running low on equipment.
'KNOCKING ON HELL'S DOOR'
Tiger was sent home and told to self-isolate with his temperature soaring to 102F (39C) – leading him to feel like he was “knocking on hell’s door”.
He was finally admitted to the hospital and given a course of drugs which alleviated his symptoms.
Tiger was then quarantined in a hotel converted into a hospital, which was guarded by cops to stop people from leaving.
Five days later his symptoms completely vanished and tests confirmed he did not have the deadly disease.
However, not all in China have been as lucky with 1,380 people dying from coronavirus since the outbreak began last month.
Another 5,090 new cases have been confirmed, pushing up the number of infected patients to 63,851.
In Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak, daily new cases have jumped by 4,823, while number of new deaths have risen by 116.
