Emmerdale spoilers: Victoria Sugden’s happiness with Luke sabotaged as Aaron returns?

Emmerdale fans are hoping Victoria Sugden (played by Isabel Hodgins) is going to have a steady and prosperous year following 2019’s turmoil, but it seems her romantic happiness could be ruined by the return of Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Both Victoria and Aaron had a difficult time last year, each going through some turbulent times, Victoria was forced to cope and continue for the sake of her baby Harry, while Aaron fled the village for Scotland in the hope of clearing his head.

In upcoming weeks, the scrapyard manager is set to return, just in time for his half-sister, baby Eve and nephew baby Harry’s christening.

In recent scenes, Emmerdale viewers saw Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) convince Victoria to get her son christened, and during the conversation in the Woolpack, village vicar Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) suggested the three newest members of the community should have a joint ceremony.

Spoiler images have shown Harry, Eve and David Metcalfe’s (Matthew Wolfenden) son Theo gather in the local church for the service.

While many are happy to see Aaron comeback home, his appearance could sabotage Victoria’s relationship with Luke Posner (Max Parker).

ITV viewers know how desperate Aaron is to have a child of his own, and will remember him and he estranged husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) plans to have a baby via surrogacy before Robert found himself spending the rest of his life behind bars.

Keen to play an active role in baby Harry’s life, it seems he will also play a pivotal role in Victoria’s life too.

During a conversation with Express.co.uk and other members of the press, the actor who plays newcomer Luke spoke about his character’s relationship with Victoria and hinted at Aaron getting in the way of a potential future together.

So far, fans of the soap have seen Luke and Victoria go on a couple of dates together and after a long conversation about being intimate with one another, they attempted to make the next step, but naturally Victoria freaked out and suffered horrific flashbacks to the night of her rape.

When asked whether Luke was in love with Victoria, he said: “That is a question!

“The whole time, there’s been this sort of Romeo and Juliet juxtaposition where they want to be together but they sort of can’t.

“They do give it a go and they are honest about their feelings. But when their honest about their feelings, their honesty comes about the bad feelings. And so, it gets to a point where they take it to the next level.

“They need to decide what’s best, it’s such a sensitive situation that they’re in and there’s the whole christening and Aaron’s back and it’s just a big eye opener for both Luke and Victoria.

“So the love question, I think it’s, it’s hard to say. Because there’s so many voices in both of the heads that sort of get in the way. So we’ll see,” he added.

Max spoke about Luke’s relationship to his nephew and how he has grown close to the baby.

“He’s the only reason why he wouldn’t get closer for [Victoria],” Max explained. “He really does like Harry, and he doesn’t want to ruin it for his mom, I guess.

“And he doesn’t want to wanna come across possessive or entitled to his nephew when it you know, [their relationship has] all been allowed by Victoria, he’s got to be very sensitive.

“We’ve seen a lot of sensitive Luke and I guess we’ve seen a lot of sensitive Victoria and I think people want to see them happy and whether they’re together or not together.

“I think that’s what the audience is trying to root for,” the actor continued.

Understandably, Aaron will only want the best for Victoria, after all she is a direct link to his husband, will he tell Victoria to concentrate on herself and her baby instead of a relationship?

Emmerdale airs weekday evenings at 7pm on ITV.
