Papa Roach Honor Late Prodigy Mastermind
Papa Roach paid tribute to Keith Flint by covering “Firestarter,” one of The Prodigy‘s biggest hits, during the Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival over the weekend.
The Prodigy were due to perform at the festival, but the English electronic music band withdrew following the death of founding member Flint in March.
Papa Roach played the classic song as the penultimate number in the show.
“This one’s for you, Keith,” the rock band’s frontman Jacoby Shaddix said before their rendition of the track.
Starting out as a dancer, Flint became the frontman of the Prodigy and performed the group’s two U.K. No. 1 singles, “Firestarter” and “Breathe,” both released in 1996.
On March 4, Flint was found dead at his home in Great Dunmow, Essex. The Prodigy subsequently canceled all forthcoming shows.
