Love Island stars at war over reunion special after bosses snub biggest stars for Montana Brown
SOME of Love Island’s favourite stars are at war over the upcoming reunion special — after bosses snubbed many of the bigger names.
Executives wanted the top four from each series involved, but then made exceptions for others.
Islanders including Montana Brown were lined up to take part — while some are said to have been ignored, sparking a major rift.
Stars including Arabella Chi and Hayley Hughes are among those who have been left out. Sources say islanders are now “arguing and b****ing about each other behind their backs”.
The Sun previously revealed how the three-parter, expected to be called Love Island: Where Are They Now?, will fill a void for ITV after this year’s was cancelled due to lockdown.
A source said: “Those involved are very excited, but it has put a few noses out of joint among stars who haven’t been asked, especially those who think they are bigger names than those who have.
"Unfortunately things have got a bit nasty between some. At first it was just going to be the finalists from each series, but once exceptions started being made it really sparked anger and resentment.”
Those who have taken part are understood to include Megan Barton Hanson, Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae Hague and Wes Nelson.
A TV insider added: “It’s just not possible to have everyone on in three episodes – so unfortunately the reality is some people have had to miss out.
“A few of them have kicked off a bit about it, but that’s just life. They can squabble among themselves all they want.”
ITV confirmed they have invited a number of former contestants but could not accommodate all of them.
A spokesman said: “There have been many fantastic Islanders over the years. This three-part series will feature some of them and will allow viewers to catch up with their lives since their time in the villa.”
