Messi, Neymar and McGregor swear by iDesign Gold, who provide personalised 24 carat gold-plated iPhones for £5,000 a pop
SPORTS stars are going mad for these 24 carat gold iPhones produced by iDesign Gold.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Steven Gerrard, Kylian Mbappe, Kevin De Bruyne, Neymar and Conor McGregor are just some of the famous faces spending up to £5,000 on the luxury handsets.
Celebrities including Katie Price, actor Armie Hammer and watchmaker to the stars Richard Mille are also on board with the latest craze.
The company, based in Liverpool, was launched in 2016 by Ben Lyons.
His first customer was Irish UFC legend Conor McGregor, and since then sports stars have made iDesign Gold the place to go to get a souped-up mobile.
THE TESTIMONIALS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES
When you've got recommendations from Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and Neymar on your website, you know you're onto a good thing.
The Argentinian bought a iPhone XS Max 24K Gold, writing on iDesign Gold's website, "Impressive design and amazing product."
While the world's most expensive footballer Neymar said: "Stunning quality" and endorsed the site with five stars.
On the company's Instagram page the world's most impressive sports stars happily pose with some of the collection available, like Tyson Fury and fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather.
“Today, our aim is to provide everyone with a smartphone device they can be proud of – a phone that not only looks great but will stand the test of time," Lyons says.
"And we don’t just talk the talk: our celebrity clientele is proof that we’re damn good at what we do."
EXPENSIVE BUSINESS
Of course, something so cool doesn't cost cheap.
There are two options available for customers – either buy a custom iPhone or custom case.
Customised cases cost anything from £200-£500, and are available in a variety of colours including black and gold, gold, platinum, and rose gold.
While a bespoke phone, like the recently released iPhone 12 Pro Max, could set you back somewhere in the region of £5,000 – with starting prices of older iPhone models costing less at £2,000.
All come hand-served by Lyons, himself, in beautifully presented packaging befitting of the phones themselves.
With Christmas coming up, you can bet some sports stars will be eyeing one of these up as a stocking filler.
