LEWIS HAMILTON will walk a disciplinary tightrope at the Abu Dhabi GP and risks picking up a 10-place grid drop.

The Brit has picked up two reprimands in the past three races and one more would trigger the huge sanction.

Hamilton was given a reprimand in Mexico for unsafely rejoining the track during first practice.

And he was also ticked off in Saudi Arabia for blocking Haas' Nikita Mazepin at high speed through the first sector in final practice.

If he is penalised in any of the three practice sessions or qualifying in Abu Dhabi, he could be hit with a hammer blow to his title hopes.

Hamilton does concede that the stewards have a very difficult job in upholding the rules.

The seven-time F1 champ said: "It's such a hard job that the stewards and Micheal [Masi] have, whether you agree with them or not.

"It's good that it's clear that everyone knows what the rules are so that things that have happened in the past don't happen again."

Championship leader Max Verstappen, on the other hand, feels decisions have gone against him, whilst other drivers go unpunished.

The Dutchman fumed: "I end up with penalties while other drivers do the same and don't get a penalty.

"I've paid the FIA a nice fine, so they've had dinners and good wine but it doesn't seem to help."
