Love Island’s explosive recoupling prompts 36 Ofcom complaints as contestants turn on each other – The Sun

FURIOUS Love Island viewers complained about last night's explosive recoupling after contestants turned on each other.

Thirty-six fans of the show contacted regulator Ofcom after watching Michael ditch Amber for new girl Joanna and Curtis admit that Amy probably isn't for him, despite her revealing she'd fallen in love.

A spokesman for the regulator said: "We are assessing the complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate."

Amid the death stares, hilarious facial expressions and unbearable tension six islanders were axed in the show's biggest shake-up.

The islanders were asked to stick or twist in their couples as viewers were treated to the most dramatic recoupling of the series.

The episode dished out explosive moments with Amy humiliated after she confessed her love for "snakey" Curtis and Amber was dropped like a hot stone by firefighter Michael.

And in a teaser look at the fallout, Anna and Amber teamed up to confront Michael, who responded angrily while Amy broke down as she admitted she was going to drop the L-bomb before learning of Curtis's change of heart.

Viewers were stunned by the results of the recoupling, as one said online: "I'M IN TEARS AMBER SWEETIE YOU DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER"

Another tweeted: "I just cried happy tears but watch after the break ima be sobbing sad tears for Amber"

One more fan remarked: "Michael is so sick. He's really perpetuating the idea that amber was SO repressing that you couldn't be yourself and Joanna was your saviour. What a D**KHEAD"

Another raged: "I actually feel SICK for Amber"

Show favourites Tommy and Molly-Mae were the only couple from the original islanders that didn't stray during the Casa Amor saga.

Elsewhere, Michael left Amber's fans raging earlier in the episode when he snogged Joanna and admitted to the boys: "I found me head, it's firmly back on me shoulders."

He called Joanna a "ten out of ten" after they giggled and flirted up a storm on the sofas outside before smooching.

Later, Joanna revealed she'd spooned Michael the following morning and said in the Beach Hut, "s***, it's happening!"

But viewers cringed for hostess Amy, 27, AND Curtis, 23, after she told Molly-Mae she's fallen in love with the ballroom dancer – while he was cracking on with Jourdan.

She said: "I never thought thought it would happen to me, that I'd meet someone like him and fall in love. I can't wait to tell him."

Maria, Nabila, Lavena, Stevie, Dan and Dennon left last night.

Anton coupled up with new girl Belle, Danny beat Curtis and won over newbie Jourdan, Lucie got with new boy George and pied off Stevie, Maura picked personal trainer Dan over footballer Dennon and Anna got her dream man in basketball player Ovie.

That left nail technician Amber and Jordan single.

Michael grafted Amber for two weeks – but he told Joanna that she'd been pushing him away after numerous rows.

But then he expressed his doubts about his relationship with Amber on Saturday night while she pined for him in Casa Amor.

And viewers predicted Michael and Joanna would couple up after seeing their chemistry during a game of sexy charades on Saturday.

But fans of the show think his decision means he's "kissed goodbye to £50k" after being a favourite to win the series.
