Covid-19 rules and regulations may alter after other sports hit by postponements
RUGBY league chiefs may alter the rules on Covid-19 call offs after other sports were hit by a spate of postponements.
Last season, seven or more cases among a squad's senior players meant a side could postpone or even cancel a game.
But SunSport understands that is likely to change as the table is not set to be decided by points percentage, like it has for the last two seasons.
It may even be the case that no set figure will be put in place in order for a match to be put on ice.
Bosses are meeting this week to thrash out the impact of the Omicron variant as Challenge Cup matches and pre-season friendlies loom.
It is understood they may even take advice from the UK Government on how France's rules that mean players must have had two jabs to enter the country will impact.
Talks with officials of Toulouse and Catalans are also set to take place on that while decisions on ground capacities – with more than 10,000 currently meaning Covid-19 passes are needed – are not expected until next week at the earliest.

The same goes for the call on reintroducing scrums, which was announced but then delayed.
Rugby Football League officials pointed out the impact players not being vaccinated are having on no uncertain terms.
80.66 per cent of Super League and 81.71 per cent of the Championship have had their jabs – SunSport understands every Super League club has at least two unvaccinated players.
But an RFL spokesman said: "The remaining minority of players who have yet to receive any vaccination should be advised that their decisions are having a material impact on all other.
"And on the nature of the 2022 competitions, given the majority support of players and coaches for the return of scrums if possible."
