Carol Vorderman responds after The Chases Mark Labbett is slammed over creepy comment
Carol Vorderman has spoken out after some Beat the Chasers viewers criticised Mark Labbett, also known as The Beast, for commenting on her "assets".
The former Countdown star wowed The Chase favourite when she appeared on the spin-off programme as a celebrity contestant, but not for her intellectual prowess, as she stunned in a gorgeous outfit.
Despite the 61 year old TV personality's mathematical genius, she suffered a case of the nerves and failed to answer four questions in a row.
Mark proceeded to tease his friend with a tweet about her "tangible assets" following the show, and despite fans branding the comments "creepy", Carol insisted she and the quiz show star were "having a laugh" about the uproar.
With various tweets labelling the chaser's comments "weird" and "inappropriate", Mark's full tweet had read: "I don’t know what is more impressive about @carolvorders, her intellect or her more tangible assets."
"Really? This is 2022 not 1972! A bit creepy and sexist," another fan responded, as Carol reposted The Sun's article about the remark.
"Well the Beast and I are having a bit of a laugh over this," she said. "As he is a good buddy of mine and we always take the mick out of each other.
"All hail the Beast @MarkLabbett and thank you Bradders and the gang for such a great show x," the presenter added.
She also posted a message to her friend earlier in the day cheekily hitting back at the trivia whiz.
"You beast you…" Carol teased.
The TV favourite looked sensational in a fitted lacy red dress for her appearance on the show, which did highlight her fabulous cleavage and enviable shape.
The brunette Countdown star wore her silky locks styled in a loose wave, and she opted for glamorous eye makeup and a slick of lipgloss.
Following her loss, she told host Bradley Walsh: "I can't believe that, I cannot believe it. I just hit those four, and I just couldn't… Oh man."
While Carol was gutted she ran into trouble with a run of questions on the show, it wasn't a complete disaster for the star.
ITV always ensures celebrity contestants are given £1,000 to donate to their chosen charities, regardless of how much cash they win for the prize fund.
Along with The Beast, the TV star also went up against Jenny Ryan's The Vixen and Ann Hegerty's The Governess in the tough round.
