Kourtney Kardashian broke $1 million engagement ring just days after Travis proposal
Kourtney Kardashian revealed in the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians that she accidentally broke her $1 million engagement ring just days after fiancé Travis Barker proposed.
During Thursday’s episode eldest sister Kourtney, 43, explained how she had accidentally stepped on the ring after Kris Jenner noticed she was no longer wearing the band.
Going into details about how the accident had happened, the mum of three said: "It's probably one of the worst things I’ve ever done in my whole life.
“I was sitting on my floor folding sweatshirts.
"I took the ring off and I put it next to me on the floor, like thinking it would be safe right next to me.”
But unfortunately her gargantuan Lorraine Schwartz sparkler was crushed when she was trying to retrieve an item from her closet.
Kourtney reassured her family that the ring was in the process of being fixed.
“I had to get something up above in my closet, and when I stepped down, I stepped on the ring," she explained.
"I was hysterically crying in my closet for hours, and then I called Travis.
"I was like, ‘I did something really, really bad.'”
Luckily, the Blink-182 drummer, 46, was very understanding with Kourtney saying he “handled it the best.”
She said: “It really gave me, like, a nervous breakdown.
"I was just like, this is the most beautiful thing that I’ve ever had in my life, and how could I have done that?"
Travis was reportedly "really hands-on" and played "a really big part" in the design of Kourtney’s spectacular ring, according to jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz.
“Travis picked it out, he designed it, he looked at so many stones and this was me in a stone and I thought that was really special,” she said during the episode.
The couple have been engaged since October 2021 when Travis popped the question whilst being surrounded by roses and candles on the beach in Montecito, Calif.
The repair job must have been a successful one as Kourtney has been seen wearing the ring the 2022 Oscars, Grammys and Met Gala.
