Kate Middletons parents set for babysitting duties and having kids to themselves this summer

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be depending on the Duchess's parents for babysitting duties throughout the summer, a royal expert has revealed.

Their children, Prince George, 8, and Princess Charlotte, 7, finished their studies for the year on Friday, leaving them with two months off before they move to a new school.

With the royal couple's summer schedule already looking jam-packed, a royal expert has suggested they have plans in place to keep their children busy.

Ingrid Seward said: “The three children are incredibly sporty and, of course, their parents are too.

“The focus will very much be on outdoor pursuits, with swimming, fishing, walking, riding and sailing.”

But while they will be around to take their children on some activities, the couple may also take trips further abroad without them, with Ingrid suggesting Kate will be depending on her parents, Carole and Michael, to babysit the kids.

She told the Express: “It’s a long holiday so I suspect that Carole and Michael Middleton, as grandparents, will probably have the kids to themselves for a little bit of the summer.

“They usually go up to Balmoral to spend time with the Queen and the rest of the family for a while and, this year, I think they will also go abroad for a short time, probably to Mustique, because William and Kate will want a change of scenery.”

The royal expert added that, like many families, the couple have been unable to take their children abroad in recent years due to the pandemic.

She said: “William and Kate haven’t been abroad much with the kids in recent years, apart from a trip to Jordan in the autumn, so I think they’ll be itching to get back to Mustique this year.

“They have all the infrastructure they need there, they have a no fly zone and all kinds of things in place so they can actually have some privacy.

“The Middletons are pretty helpful with all this and Carole organises the Mustique trips.”

Carole and Michael Middleton live in Bucklebury Manor, in a West Berkshire village.

Kate, who was brought up in Berkshire, now lives with her family between Kensington Palace Apartment 1A and Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.

This comes after Kate revealed that her dad once embarrassed her at Wimbledon with a mix-up of names as they walked past former British number one, Tim Henman.

She told the BBC: "My father is not going to appreciate this, but we were walking past Tim Henman and we had just seen Sampras play.

"My dad said very coolly: 'Hi Pete'. I was mortified!"
