Emmerdale shocker as Nicky tells bride Gabby that he's gay on their wedding day
Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) is in for a huge shock in Emmerdale next week as Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope), unable to keep up the act any longer, blurts out that he’s gay on their wedding day.
Nicky, as viewers know, is in cahoots with scheming dad Caleb (William Ash), who is on a mission to avenge secret dad Frank Tate (Norman Bowler), who famously fell victim to Kim (Claire King) back in the nineties.
Kim, of course, has no idea that Caleb is out to destroy her, believing him to be a business partner with her best interests at heart, unaware that he’s been plotting with son Nicky to get his hands on her fortune.
Nicky’s role in the whole charade involved wooing Gabby with his charm and good looks, and he succeeded in his mission, despite the fact that he’s gay and in a secret relationship with Ally (Josh Horrocks).
Ally, who is head over heels in love with Nicky, meets with his former beau on the outskirts of the village next week, pleading with him to reconsider marrying Gabby, instead suggesting that they get married instead.
The suggestion leaves Nicky all the more conflicted, wanting to be free to properly see Ally but not wanting to let his dad down, but things become a lot more complicated when Caleb again shifts the goal posts, insisting that they’ll have to play a much longer game than they’d initially planned.
How long we talking here Caleb hun?
Nicky, fed up of the act, tells his dad that he wants out. With attention turning to the wedding the following day, Gabby dons her dress, before revealing to Nicky that she’d like him to adopt Thomas.

Overwhelmed, Nicky struggles to maintain his composure, as he blurts out that he’s gay and therefore cannot go through with the wedding.
The news, as you can imagine, comes as a huge curveball to Gabby, who thought that she’d finally found her dream man, with a happy ending on the horizon.
Caleb, meanwhile, is horrified when he learns that Nicky has pulled out of the wedding.
The schemer, who urged his son to break up with Ally when he found out he’s gay, promised to ‘destroy’ him if he sabotaged the plan, and that’s exactly what he does, lashing out, with a violent showdown between the father and son ensuing.
Caleb grabs Nicky, holding him aggressively against the wall, before cruelly punching him hard in the face.
Not content with assaulting him, he then insists that Nicky take the fall when he empties the Home Farm bank accounts, leaving the nanny stunned.
Horrific.
Things, however, take a shocking turn, with Caleb logging in to Kim’s bank accounts to find out that they’ve already been drained of cash. Frustrated, the schemer’s facade slips when confronted by an angry Kim.
But will his true identity at last be revealed? Will he get what he wants? Or will it be Kim who has the last laugh, foiling his plot?
You’ll just have to make sure to tune in and find out next week.
