‘Prison Karen’ Ghislaine Maxwell accused a female guard of sexual abuse for confronting the disgraced socialite over her lax personal hygiene, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
The officer pulled Maxwell, 61, aside after fellow inmates complained that she wasn’t showering after coming off the outdoor running track at Florida’s FCI Tallahassee.
The dressing down is said to have involved coarse language and the term ‘hooha’ – slang for an intimate female body part – leaving the Oxford-educated prisoner aghast.
‘The officer never touched her. It was just a conversation about cleanliness and the need to shower more frequently. But the officer has a mouth like Cardi B and was completely tactless about it,’ an insider told DailyMail.com.
‘Max insists that it was a personal matter and the officer had no right to bring it up. She reported the encounter because she claims it left her feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed.
‘She might seem a little easily shocked for a convicted sex trafficker – but that’s Max. She doesn’t see herself that way, she acts and talks as if she’s innocent.’

Maxwell is locked up at FCI Tallahassee, which could be her home until July 2037
Our source explained it’s common for sex offenders to avoid showering behind bars because the stalls are the likeliest place to get ambushed with a homemade blade or a soap wrapped in a sock.
A spokesman for Maxwell did not respond to an inquiry about the alleged abuse, which was investigated for three weeks last October before jail authorities closed their probe.
It’s just one of a dozen or more misconduct allegations Maxwell has leveled at staff at the low-security federal lockup where she’s serving 20 years for being Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice.
The disgraced British socialite is still having trouble adapting to her grim life behind bars after being surrounded by luxury and wealth for most of her life
Records obtained by DailyMail.com reveal Maxwell has accused workers of harassment, unprofessional behavior and discrimination under the 14th Amendment and freedom of religion laws.
She’s also peppered jail authorities with complaints about the food, a lack of hot water, being denied access to a computer and having her mail tampered with.
In all, Maxwell’s gripes span nine pages of ‘administrative remedy’ records which were obtained from the Federal Bureau of Prisons under the Freedom of Information Act.
The British-born felon has lodged further grievances about ‘improper or inadequate’ dental and medical treatment for eye problems and a rash.
A December 2022 entry notes that Maxwell says she has not been able to see an ob-gyn and needs an ultrasound examination.
The records also reveal that Maxwell has already filed for compassionate release on two occasions – despite having 19 years left to serve.
Our sources tell us that the numerous entries are likely the tip of the iceberg as anything especially egregious or unresolved would be exempt from disclosure.
Maxwell not only files numerous complaints for herself, she also uses her job in the prison’s law library to advise other inmates how to do the same, adds our insider.
Her suspected end goal is to cause such a stink that she’s transferred to a different facility, preferably FCI Danbury, the Connecticut lockup that inspired Orange is the New Black.
‘Tallahassee is big, it’s old, it’s ghetto. Max has too many enemies and she wants out,’ explained our source.
‘Danbury is smaller and mainly for white-collar criminals and she thinks she can get there by causing as much hassle as possible.’
Ghislaine Maxwell has filed more than 400 complaints over the unfavorable conditions in prison since starting her 20-year sentence at FCI Tallahassee last July
Insiders told DailyMail.com that Maxwell tattled on a transgender cellmate known as ‘Batman’ – a career criminal convicted of firearm offenses – for having loud sex sessions late at night
DailyMail.com revealed last month that Maxwell earned her ‘prison Karen’ moniker because of the 400-plus petty complaints she has lodged while behind bars.
The sex trafficker has slated the lackluster vegan menu options, demanded jail authorities give her access to hair dye and even complained about a transgender inmate having noisy sex in the bunk above her.
Maxwell also bagged plush hypoallergenic bedding after grumbling to staff that the standard-issue prison pillows were triggering her allergies.
Her moaning dates back to July 2020 when she was locked up at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York while awaiting federal trial for grooming minors.
There, her lawyers accused prison authorities of breaching her rights by shining a torch in her cell every 15 minutes, subjecting her to invasive searches and filming her at all hours.
The daughter of disgraced UK newspaper magnate Robert Maxwell was sentenced to two decades behind bars in June last year and the judge recommended she serve her time in Danbury. But the Bureau of Prisons had other ideas and shipped her 1,000 miles south to the Sunshine State.
Controversy ensured when she used the prison’s video visit system to give an interview to UK broadcaster Jeremy Kyle in which she claimed, without evidence, that the now-notorious photograph of Prince Andrew with Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre was fake.

DailyMail.com revealed how the chat earned Maxwell 48 hours in the Special Housing Unit – a ‘prison within a prison’ comprising tiny, grim cells where inmates are caged for 23 hours at a time and fed through slits in the door.
In March it was the turn of two Cuban inmates who were both thrown into solitary confinement for 47 days after Maxwell reported them to authorities for trying to extort her.
The two bullies found out their strict vegan neighbor had an ‘arrangement’ with a kitchen worker who would slip her extra fruit, vegetables, and tofu and thought they could use the info against her.
They penned Maxwell a threatening letter demanding $360 worth of items from her commissary allowance but the Briton turned it straight over to prison authorities.
Maxwell was living in fear of a beatdown when the pair got out but one of the Cubans has since been transferred to a half-way house in Laredo, Texas and the other was moved to a different housing unit.
Maxwell – federal prisoner 02879-509 – will be 75 by the time she’s freed unless she can successfully appeal her convictions for helping ex-lover Epstein, who hanged himself behind bars in 2019 instead of facing trial. She has a release date of July 17, 2037.
Federal prosecutors argued this week in a fresh court filing that Maxwell’s conviction for grooming girls as young as 14 should stand and denied claims she was being used as a proxy to satisfy public outrage over Epstein’s crimes.
