Ant and Dec's Limitless Win leaves viewers 'bored' and 'confused'

A rare miss for Ant and Dec? Limitless Win viewers ‘switch off’ as they complain their brand new game show is ‘boring’ and ‘hard to follow’

Ant and Dec’s highly-anticipated new gameshow Limitless Win kicked off on Saturday night, with players given a chance to play for the biggest cash prize in British history.

However, viewers tuning in were soon left switching off as they complained the show was too ‘boring’, while many thought the rules were too ‘confusing’ and ‘hard to follow’.

Despite the TV hosts, both 46, having much success with other prime time programmes including Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity, it appears that their latest effort is a rare miss for the pair.

Uh oh: Ant and Dec’s new gameshow Limitless Win kicked off on Saturday night, but viewers tuning in were soon left switching off as they complained the show was too ‘boring’

At the beginning of the show, the Geordie duo welcomed couple Will and Kathryn, who are NHS workers, who were hoping to win big to buy a dream campervan.

The pair then went on to explain the rules of the game, explaining that every answer is a number, with the numerical answer also being the amount of steps they can move up the ladder.

After playing a quick fire question round, contestants built up their lives, with each correct answer earning them five lives.

Battled: Many watching at home complained while the rules were too ‘confusing’ and ‘hard to follow’

Players were allowed to give an answer which was below the correct answer, but not over, with contestants earning Lifelines along the way including odd or even, more than or range.

But despite the pair explaining the format, viewers took to Twitter in their droves to complain how hard it was to get their head around the rules.

‘I’m already confused’ tweeted one viewer, while another agreed: ‘Bit complicated isn’t it.’

Oh dear: Despite the TV hosts, both 46, having much success with other prime time programmes including Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity, it appears that their latest effort is a rare miss for the pair

Hey there: At the beginning of the show, the Geordie duo welcomed couple Will and Kathryn, who are NHS workers, who were hoping to win big to buy a dream campervan

Get it? The pair then went on to explain the rules of the game, explaining that every answer is a number, with the numerical answer also being the amount of steps they can move up the ladder

‘Wtf is going on’ asked another baffled person, with another sharing: ‘They just explained what they have to do and I’m still confused.’

Meanwhile, others declared they were changing channels as they admitted being bored by the show.

‘Boring show stopped watching after 5 minutes’ shared one.

With another echoing: ‘Giving #LimitlessWin five more minutes then switching to The Wheel. Never seen a show so boring so far!’

Reaction: Despite the pair explaining the format, viewers took to Twitter in their droves to complain how hard it was to get their head around the rules

‘We’re 15 minutes in, we’ve had very few questions. It’s just slow, an so boring. So close to being great but they have got it wrong’ commented a third.

With an additional watcher asking: ‘Anyone else finding #limitlesswin a bit boring?’

However, it was all bad news as those who managed to follow the game revealed that they enjoyed the show, with one even suggesting it could win awards.

‘Loving #antanddec new show’ said one person on Twitter, with another following: ‘I’m so stressed watching #LimitlessWin!! I love it!!’

Not impressed: Meanwhile, others declared they were changing channels as they admitted being bored by the show

‘Enjoyed that! Great format and was happy to see that couple win big’ shared another.

With one impressed fan adding: ‘Well, that was brilliant!!! I’ll be surprised if it’s not another award winner for @antanddec! Well done, boys!’

It comes after Ant and Dec joked their new gameshow Limitless Win could bankrupt ITV.

In what ITV say is ‘the biggest prize ever conceived’ up for grabs, the five-part series features an endless money ladder, with only a correct answer banking the cash.

Onto a winner? However, it was all bad news as those who managed to follow the game revealed that they enjoyed the show, with one even suggesting it could win awards

If they push their luck too far, they’ll crash out of the game and lose it all.

Speaking about the limitless prize money, Ant told The Mirror: ‘We did worry that we were going to bankrupt ITV.’

The dynamic duo say they have completely reinvented the rule book when creating the gameshow and it is unlike any other on the television.

Dec explained: ‘The great thing about this show is that the questions can’t really get harder because the answer to every question is a number, with a lot of TV shows, the further it goes on, the harder it gets.

‘And I find as a viewer, I can’t play along any more because I don’t have any idea, but the thing with Limitless Win is that all of the answers are numbers, so you can have a good stab at most of them. You might not get it exactly, but you might stay in the game.’

Limitless Win continues Saturday at 8.30pm on ITV.
