Armie Hammer recites poetry in Central Park instead of staying home

Armie Hammer braved the outdoors to recite some poetry.

The “Call Me by Your Name” actor, 33, went to Central Park to recite poet Wendy Cope’s “Valentine” instead of heeding the government’s order to stay at home amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“Here he is, the gorgeous and talented Mr Armie Hammer reciting one of my favorite poems by Wendy Cope on a crisp spring day in Central Park,” the Instagram account Poetry in the Wild posted Monday morning. “Listen and swoon my friends.”

“My heart has made its mind up / And I’m afraid it’s you. / Whatever you’ve got lined up, / My heart has made its mind up / And if you can’t be signed up / This year, next year will do. / My heart has made its mind up / And I’m afraid it’s you,” the poem reads.

Aside from Hammer and the apparent videographer who filmed the short clip, no one else appeared in frame. Perhaps Hammer insisted they practice social distancing if they were to go outside. Nevertheless, it didn’t seem to upset anyone that Hammer ventured outside instead of quarantining, choosing instead to swoon over his rendition.

“This is SO BEAUTIFUL! I love him wholeheartedly and I think that he did it perfectly,” commented one fan.

“Will he do it again, please ???” begged another.

“Wouldn’t mind @armiehammer as my valentine,” wrote another love-struck fan.
