Barry Gibb Drops ‘Greenfields’ Featuring Dolly Parton, Keith Urban & More
Bee Gees icon Barry Gibb recently released Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol. 1, featuring collabs with Dolly Parton, Keith Urban and several other top acts.
The album, produced by Dave Cobb and recorded at RCA Studios in Nashville, contains 12 songs, including reimagined versions of “I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You,” “Jive Talkin,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” and “To Love Somebody.”
The record also features Alison Krauss, Brandie Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Tommy Emmanuel, Jason Isbell, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Olivia Newton-John and more.
“It just gave me chills!” Gibb recalls about working with Parton for their duet. “It was a thrill to be there. The pure joy of working with her again after 25 years, it was like, yesterday — she was no different. She’s the most down to earth, sweet person I think I’ve ever met with the kind of success she’s had. She does not take it for granted.”
He thanked other stars also for their support, saying, “I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with Dave and all the artists who stopped by. They were all incredibly generous with their time and talent. They inspired me more than words can express. I feel deep down that Maurice and Robin would have loved this album for different reasons. I wish we could have all been together to do it…but I think we were.”
