Brad Pitt makes dig at Brexit and mocks royal family news in BAFTAs 2020 speech
Actor Brad Pitt, 56, didn’t attend the EE British Academy Film Awards 2020 last night due to a “family obligation” but this didn’t stop him from hitting the headlines.The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as Cliff Booth in the movie.

Brad’s co-star Margot Robbie accepted the award in his absence and read out his speech, which included a flippant dig at Brexit and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“Brad couldn’t be here tonight due to family obligations,” she began.
She then added: “Hey Britain, how did you just become single? Welcome to the club – Wishing you the best with the divorce settlement,” which prompted the audience to laugh.
The Hollywood star’s joke comes after United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union on January 31, which has been titled Brexit.

He also couldn’t resist mocking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent decision to step down from their senior roles in the royal family.
Margot continued: “He also said that he’s gonna name this Harry because he’s really excited about bringig it back to the States with him.”
She added: “His words not mine!”
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge found the funny side of the speech as they were seen laughing in the audience.
Brad is no stranger for humorous award speeches.
Last month, he joked about failed marriages at the Screen Actors Guilds awards.
At first, the star left the audience in hysterics as he said he will add his achievement to his Tinder profile.
He then said of his award-winning role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood: “Let’s be honest; [Cliff Booth] was a difficult part: a guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn’t get on with his wife.”

At the same event, Brad and his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston sent fans into a frenzy with their cosy reunion backstage.
The former married couple were seen sharing a joke and enjoying each other’s company in front of onlookers.
Later on in the evening, Brad was seen admiring his ex-wife on a screen backstage as she collected her award.

According to E! news, the actor “stopped everything” behind-the-scenes to capture his former spouse ‘s speech.
The pair tied the knot back in 2000 before ending their marriage five years later.
Brad moved on with Angelina Jolie, but the pair divorced in 2016.
Jennifer tied the knot with her second husband Justin Theroux in 2015 and divorced in 2017.
