The new series follows the pair as their face the oncoming American Revolution after moving to North Carolina in the last season.

Balfe is an actress and model who has had an impressive career and many credits to her name.
Outlander proved to be the Irish star’s breakout role after programme-makers scoured high and low to find the right person to play Claire Fraser and auditioned many actresses in the process.
The casting decision turned out to be the right one and has seen Balfe win many accolades for her performance including a Saturn Award, a Scottish BAFTA and a People’s Choice Award.

Balfe wanted to pursue a career in acting but while studying at the Dublin Institute of Technology, she was offered modelling work.
She ended up working the runway for 10 years and featured in campaigns for the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Max Mara, Bottega Veneta and Oscar de la Renta.
The star also appeared on the catwalk as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
However, she later returned to acting with roles in films Super 8, Now You See Me, Escape Plan and TV series The Beauty Inside and H+.
After finding success in Outlander, she has gone on to star in Money Monster, lent her voice to The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and the Oscar-nominated Ford v Ferrari.
She would have accumulated her fortune from her modelling days, but this would have increased significantly after her casting as Claire in Outlander.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Balfe is worth an estimated £3.3 million ($4 million) but she is likely to be worth more given her Outlander paycheque.

Variety previously reported in 2017 how she and co-star Heughan were both paid an estimated £86,000 ($100,000) per episode.
This means, over the course of Outlander – which has a total of 67 episodes to date – Balfe would stand to make £5.7 million ($6,700,000).
Of course, this number doesn’t account for any pay rises either she or her fellow cast members may have been given as the show became bigger.
With Outlander already confirmed to be returning for season six, this number is likely to go up.

Also, Balfe has previously said she is contracted for season seven as well which means she is line for another wage increase.
Additionally, both Balfe and Heughan were promoted to producers on Outlander in season five and this extra role is going to see their salaries bumped up again.
Speaking to Margaret Gardiner about becoming a producer, Balfe reflected: “It’s been really interesting. I think in this season, we got our producer title later.
“So, I think I really wanted to learn. I think what’s so exciting is that in our fifth season, I get to take on a new role and expand my knowledge.
“It was really interesting sitting in on production meetings and learning about what every single department brings and what everyone contributes and being the guardians of these characters.
“Now, in a larger way, we’re the guardians of this story too and that’s a responsibility and it’s one I don’t take lightly.
“But it’s really fun and I feel really invested in this show that it feels like a good, natural progression.”
