Cardi B Earns Record 18th Straight Week Atop R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart
Cardi B earned a record 18th straight week atop Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, as her latest single “Please Me,” which also features Bruno Mars, topped the chart for a ninth straight week.
“Please Me,” extended Cardi B’s run atop the chart, coming on the heels of “Money,” which spent nine weeks at No. 1.
Cardi B set a new record for the longest uninterrupted streak at No. 1 among female artists, surpassing the previous record held by Alicia Keys, who stayed atop the chart for 17 weeks.
Keys’ 17-week record was achieved with the help of “No One” (10 weeks) and “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” (7 weeks).
Cardi B trails the all-time leader, Miguel, whose “Adorn” posted 22 of its 23 weeks at No. 1 consecutively. The track also remains the longest-running No. 1 song in the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart’s history.
