Carol Kirkwood: ‘Can’t do that on TV…’ BBC Breakfast weather presenter rejects request
Carol Kirkwood, 57, has a huge fan base having presented the weather on BBC since 1998.
And one of her followers, who watches BBC Breakfast, asked the meteorologist for a special request live on TV.
Carol tweeted to her 165,000 followers: “Morning,” to which one of her fans replied in Welsh: “Bore da.”
The BBC Breakfast viewer then asked the weather presenter to give a shout out to his three-week-old daughter.

He wrote: “Just about to switch on Breakfast, would love a little shout out to my 3 week old daughter Emilia if you could have a good day!”
However, Carol had to let him down as she admitted she’s not able to do shout outs on TV.
She replied: “Sorry can’t do that on TV Garin… but can here, so GOOD MORNING EMILIA x.”
The viewer wrote back: “Aw there’s a shame haha, thank you though! Will pass on the message x.”
Meanwhile, Carol warned viewers the UK is set to face a severe temperature drop in the next coming days as “drizzling rain” dampens the south west.
Predicting what’s to come for the rest of the week, she said: “As we move from Thursday into Friday, we start off dry on Thursday for many but then we’ve got an array off weather fronts crossing us.
“Not only will it bring cloud and some rain with them, but it will also have an impact on the temperature.
“Thursday we hang on to the colder air in the north but then the milder air, represented by yellows, just across the whole of the UK. By Friday we’ll all be in double figures temperatures.”
Carol added: ”But first on Thursday, another nippy star, some mist and fog patches, some frost, lot of dry weather around though.”
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant recently uploaded a hilarious video showing what can happen behind-the-scenes when she presents the weather.
Rehearsing her forecast, Carol stunned in a green dress but it bizarrely disappeared when she stood in front of the map of the UK.
The star ended up blending in with the images on screen, with her hands, hand and neck left on show.
Her green dress had vanished and instead, Carol looked to be wearing a dress showing the map of the UK.
The caption she accompanied the tweet with, read: “This is why we don’t wear green in front of the green screen xxx @BBCBreakfast,” following by three laughing emojis.
BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One from 6am.
