Chris Ramsey wife: Reason Chris won’t fall for Strictly curse – ‘Not jeopardising that’

Comedian Chris Ramsey has danced his way to the 10th week of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Karen Hauer. Tonight they will be performing the Paso Doble to ‘Run Boy Run’ by Woodkid.

Each week Chris has been cheered on by his wife Rosie, who posts to her Instagram and Twitter accounts urging her fans to vote for him.

Chris, 33, and Rosie have been together for seven years and have a young son named Robin.

The Geordie funnyman tours the country doing standup about married life, but it was Rosie who captured the attention of fans.

Chris and Rosie present podcast ‘Sh*gged Married Annoyed’, which features the husband and wife duo answering questions from the general public on various subjects.

Each show also has a dedicated segment with a question from a celebrity.

The idea for the podcast came from when Chris was doing a Facebook live video and Rosie was chiming in behind him.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain with Rosie in April, Chris explained: “I started doing Facebook Lives to promote shows I was doing and Rosie was in the background of it heckling, and people were loving her.

“Then we turned the camera to both of us and it was like ‘let’s do a podcast’.”

Chris uses married life and being a father often in his stand-up routines, and Rosie said the podcast gives her a chance to tell her side.

The podcast covers “life, relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting, growing up and everything in between”.

Speaking to the Mirror, Chris explained why the podcast was such a hit with fans.

He said: “There’s total honesty and transparency in my stand up and Rosie’s Instagram’s the same.

“People love Rosie so much because they follow her and they say, ‘You cut through the Instagram bulls**t’.

“If we did a podcast trying to make our lives look perfect we’d be getting emails off people saying ‘What the hell’s this?’”

Chris is enjoying his time on Strictly and previously joked the podcast was the main reason he wouldn’t fall victim to the infamous Strictly curse.

Speaking on Lorraine, Chris said: “Everyone says about the Strictly curse but me and my wife have been together for seven years, married for five years.

“We have a three-year-old son but, more importantly, the top podcast in the UK. If you think I’m jeopardising that!”

According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, Kelvin Fletcher is the overwhelming favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing.

After another table-topping performance in Blackpool over the weekend, the former Emmerdale star now finds himself chalked up as the 4/9 favourite, odds which give him just shy of a 70 percent chance of winning.

Karim Zeroual sits next in the betting at 3/1, but after that, it’s wide open in the race for the bronze medal this year, with Emma Barton (16/1), Alex Scott (20/1), Saffron Barker (20/1) all fancied.

Chris, however, remains the outsider for glory at 50/1.

Ladbrokes spokeswoman Jessica O’Reilly said: “As every week passes by it’s becoming increasingly likely that Kelvin will be crowned as king of the dancefloor in 2019.”
