Congressional Black Caucus Calls For A$AP Rocky’s Release

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have called on the Swedish government to release A$AP Rocky from police custody, almost two weeks after he was jailed over an alleged assault in Stockholm.

The incident involved A$AP Rocky and his entourage, who allegedly attacked a man on the streets of the Swedish capital in the first week of July.

“The situation with A$AP Rocky is unfortunate, it’s outrageous, it needs to be addressed,” Congressman Hakeem Jeffries of New York said in a video uploaded by TMZ.

“You can expect that members of Congress, particularly those of use who are part of the Congressional Black Caucus, are going to continue to weigh in forcefully until A$AP Rocky is free,” he added.

Jeffries, Andre Carson, and Adriano Espaillat, who is part of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, stood on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday to demand A$AP Rocky’s release.

Swedish prosecutors have yet to officially charge the hip-hop star with aggravated assault.
