Eamonn Holmes says Ruth Langsford to miss This Morning over ill health ‘bad news’

Eamonn Holmes will not be alongside his co-host and wife Ruth Langsford on This Morning today. The presenter spoke out in view of his 591,000 Instagram followers prior to the start of their latest instalment.

The 60-year-old shared a snap of himself and Rochelle Homes on the set of the ITV favourite, from a previous time hosting together.

He explained that his spouse, 59, who he wed back in 2010, was not feeling well and had to pull out.

Eamonn stated: “In 4 Ruth. The bad news is Ruth a bit under the weather today.”(sic)

The small screen favourite continued: “The good news is Rochelle and I will pair up again.

“A delightful friend and colleague and always a joy to be around.”

Rochelle, 30, went on to share a backstage snap of the studio but didn’t say anything further.

Eamonn was immediately inundated with comments, with many offering their well wishes for Ruth.

“Hope your better soon Ruth, missed you last night QVC,” one user posted.

Two others echoed their thoughts: “Get well soon Ruth – it’s not the same without you!” and: “Get well soon. My hubby’s not well as well he’s had flu 3 weeks ago and it’s back.”

“Ah miss Ruth, get well soon. Love Eamonn and Rochelle is fabulous,” a fourth went on.

Someone else went on to quip: “Don’t get into to much trouble you to.”

Ruth last took to Instagram earlier this week, sharing videos from behind-the-scenes of her QVC programme.

She also took to Twitter to respond to a This Morning guest in view of her 612,000 fans.

Neil Hopper wrote: “Thank @EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL for the kind questions. It was scary but everyone at @thismorning was amazing! I’ll remember the experience forever!”

The mother-of-one replied: “The pleasure was all ours Neil x.”

Meanwhile, its comes just days after Eamonn revealed his plans for his wife’s upcoming 60th birthday, in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.

He celebrated his milestone birthday back in December with a surprise party organised by by Ruth.

The broadcaster said he has plans to do something “Irish-themed” for her big day, which is on St Patrick’s Day, and is keen to take her back to Singapore, where she was born.

“We’ll have to incite people, people will have to know what’s happening, I think the surprise thing has worn out now but yeah we will do something,” he admitted.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
