Elton John Forced To Halt Australia Show Due To Downpour

An unexpected downpour of rain and hail forced Elton John to stop his concert in Australia half-way through last Friday.

The music legend was past one and a half hours into his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour stop at Rochford Wines in Yarra Valley, Victoria, when heavy rain drenched the crew as well as instruments on stage.

The septuagenarian singer was playing “Funeral for a Friend” from the album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, when the skies opened.

The rain came as a relief for the city, which has been reeling from temperatures that rose to 43°C during the day.

“Unfortunately due to tonight’s short but heavy downpour that occurred 95 minutes into Elton John’s set resulting in damage to musical instruments and monitors on stage, the show could not continue,” concert organizers said in a statement.

“We too are upset about the impact of the weather on tonight’s show,” they added. They urged fans to hang on to their tickets until given further information.
