Grammy Salute To Essential Workers Features Star-Studded Lineup

Grammy and Emmy-award winning actor/singer, Harry Connick, Jr. is gearing up to host a brand-new 2-hour special to honor and celebrate the essential workers who are battling the COVID-19 pandemic on the frontlines.

Titled “United We Sing: A Grammy Salute To The Unsung Heroes,” the special is set to air on CBS on Sunday, June 21 between 8 and 10 PM ET/PT, and will feature Connick, and his filmmaker daughter, Georgia as they travel across the nation in an RV in an effort to thank the essential workers for the services that they are tirelessly providing “on a daily basis to keep the country safe.”

Tagging along for the ride is a host of Connick’s celebrity friends, including Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, Renée Zellweger, and Drew Brees, each of whom will deliver surprise messages of appreciation to the workers.

The program will also feature performances by musical acts of the likes of Dave Matthews, John Fogerty, Tim McGraw, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Jamie Foxx, Little Big Town, Jon Batiste, Andra Day, Rockin Dopsie, and Trombone Shorty, among others.

Proceeds from the one-of-its-kind special will be donated to MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund, No Kid Hungry, and the Ellis Marsalis Cnter for Music in New Orleans.
