Jacqueline Jossa has revealed she managed to catch a flight back to the UK ahead of Portugal going into the amber list.

The 28 year old, who recently said her daughters Ella, six, and Mia, two, are "her world" in a sweet post, took to her Instagram stories to share a clip of herself sitting on a couch with her two girls next to her as they watched TV.

Wearing a pale green T-shirt with her brunette hair swept up into a bun, she told her 3.2 million followers: "We're home, safe and sound. It was a long flight. Mia was temperamental. We got there in the end. Ordered McDonald's and I think we're going to have an early night."

The mum-of-two went on to explain what the trip was like after worried fans questioned if it was safe. She said: "For those asking, Portugal was absolutely fine.

"You have to wear your masks everywhere. Obviously you have to get tested there, get tested on your way back and get tested here. You have to show all of your stuff as well.

"It doesn't go into the amber list until Tuesday so we don't have to quarantine. We've done all our tests and everything was negative so we're all good."

Jacqueline, who recently stunned with mermaid waves in a glamorous transformation snap, said the airport was "super busy" with people attempting to do the same as her – get back to the UK before Portugal is taken off the green list.

She said: "It was like crazy," before praising her children as she added: "The girls were actually really good considering, when I look back and think how long the queues were they were really good."

The former EastEnders star then hosted a Q&A session, when one person asked her: "Why did you going on holiday when we are in a pandemic but you stayed in the UK?"

Defending her actions, she responded: "Because it was okay to do so… I was aloud … mad I have to say was aloud…. like countries now have traffic life systems. Mad.

"I wanted to, my life my choice. All the procedures where in place, was complete safe. All negative tests and forms filled in! Don't worry my hun."

Had Jacqueline and her family landed in the UK on Tuesday, they would've had to adhere to strict measures and gone into quarantine for a period of 10 days.

They would, however, have been able to reduce the isolation period if they received a negative result from a test taken at least five days after their arrival. They would also have had to take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on day two and day eight of their arrival back in the UK.

Luckily, the former I'm A Celebrity winner managed to bypass this as she and her daughters came back on Sunday 6 June.
