Jedward fume over anti-mask protest as they brand marchers 'selfish low lives'
Jedward are completely done with anti-mask protests amid the coronavirus pandemic, branding those marching ‘selfish low-lives’.
In an uncharacteristically angry tweet, the twins – real names John and Edward Grimes – fumed at the protest taking place in Dublin.
‘Dear Dublin Anti Mask Protest! Get the f**k inside you selfish low lives sincerely the rest of the country,’ they wrote.
They added: ‘When your core message is wrong you have no legs to stand on!There’s only one Right in this fight against Covid so don’t even try to question it! Change your attitude and get with the times.’
Fans were quick to agree, with one writing: ‘I really don’t know what’s so hard about wearing a mask…’
‘So disheartened guys…they are putting vulnerable people at risk,’ another said, while one more added: ‘Ok u snapped and rightly so.’
Meanwhile, the lads clashed with The Corrs’ Jim Corr, who shared footage of himself attending the protest.
While they savagely accused him of ‘idiotic behaviour’, he told them: ‘Shut up you fools and grow a brain between you.’
Things all got a bit personal with the twins told him: ‘Why don’t you just go and “Runaway” and FYI your sisters never needed you please leave the band.’
The lads clearly haven’t been afraid to speak their minds recently, coming for Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi with a bizarre comparison picture, and hitting back at Rachel Riley when she appeared to throw shade at them on Twitter.
Thankfully, all was settled quickly between the twins and the Countdown host, with them becoming firm friends after the incident.
Meanwhile, Edward recently had to undergo surgery, thanking fans for their support.
The star shared a selfie wearing his hospital gown and a blue face mask, before posting a picture of himself with his eyes closed post-surgery. He tweeted: ‘Pre Operation vs after Operation!
‘Thank You Ray Moran you superhero! Can’t wait to be be back up and rocking the stage! I’m forever grateful!! All I want is Tea Rignt now and to see John! You’re messages and love have me emotional! Just need recovery and rest now [sic].’
A rep for the star told Metro.co.uk: ‘Edward has been suffering knee complications for many years and ongoing pain from a major stage accident that happened many years ago resulting in an ACL injury. Being very active as a performer and touring for many years has done untold damage resulting in the most recent procedure operation.
‘Due to rescheduling of tour dates this was the best time for operation and his recovery. With future work commitments he will be determined to get back to full health with physiotherapy.’
