Katie Price's daughter Princess discusses growing up with Harvey

‘He can’t help it’: Katie Price’s daughter Princess reveals brother Harvey ‘purposely goes for’ younger siblings Jett and Bunny because he likes the sound of crying

Katie Price’s daughter Princess has revealed brother Harvey sometimes unintentionally hurts siblings Jett and Bunny because he ‘likes the sound of crying.’

Princess, 14, who Katie shares with ex-husband Peter Andre, detailed life growing up with her disabled big brother, 19, in an extract from Katie’s new memoir, Katie Price: Harvey & Me, serialised in The Mirror.

Harvey – whose father is retired footballer Dwight Yorke, 49 – is on the autism spectrum and was born with disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes an excessive appetite.

He was also born with septo-optic dysplasia – a condition that means the development of his optic nerve was unpredictable.

Princess detailed that while her big brother is ‘a lot of fun’, his moods can change quickly, which can scare youngest siblings Jett, eight and Bunny, seven.

She said:  ‘We absolutely love our big brother, Harvey. We have so much fun together, but it can be difficult at times with his disabilities. He can be quite hard to look after.’

‘I do try and let Mum sort him out when he’s kicking off, because she knows him better than anyone.

‘Harvey is also really close to Junior (16). Once he gets into a temper, Bunny and Jett try to avoid him because sometimes it can be hard to know how he’s going to react. He’s much bigger than them, so they find it scary.’

Princess added: ‘Sometimes he can purposely go for Jett and Bunny just to make them cry. Obviously he can’t help it and he’s not doing it to purposely hurt them, he just enjoys the noise of it. He used to do that to me when I was younger, too.’

Princess also praised ‘clever and hilarious’ Harvey, saying ‘we all love you so much’.

This comes as elsewhere in her book, Katie claimed Dwight Yorke ‘disowned’  Harvey over dinner in 2012.

The former glamour model and the former premier league footballer, 49, briefly had a romance in 2001, and broke up soon after Katie fell pregnant with her eldest child, now 19.

In her new book, she details how Dwight apparently refused to see Harvey after he had asked to see his father over a meal in Cheshire village Alderley Edge.

Katie wrote in her book, serialised in The Mirror: ‘I walked over to him and he didn’t really say much – it was so awkward. He hadn’t even bought me a drink! But that was typical Dwight.’

She claimed that it was after she arrived that he said he didn’t want to see the pair of them anymore.

She penned: ‘Even after he said that, I was still trying to be persistent. I wanted Harvey to have his dad in his life, but he just wasn’t interested in any of it. ‘This isn’t about me. This is your son and your flesh and blood,’

‘But he just didn’t give a s**t. There’s only so much you can try before you realise you’re flogging a dead horse. I got up and left and that’s the last time I saw him. I haven’t heard from him since.’

MailOnline has contacted Dwight and Katie’s representatives for further comment.

Katie has cared for her son who has autism, partial blindness and Prader-Willi Syndrome.

When Katie first fell pregnant with Harvey, Dwight denied he was the father, until a DNA test proved his paternity.

Dwight previously slammed Katie in his own book Born To Score in 2009 after he claimed that she did not let him see Harvey.

He wrote: ‘From the moment I set eyes on the little fella, I have loved my son like I could never ever have imagined possible. I am not going to hear any more that I did not care for Harvey, or have any understanding of his needs or that I was not interested in his welfare.’

The book extract comes after Katie’s recent stint in rehab following a drink-and-drugs drive crash.

Katie is facing jail after pleading guilty to a slew of motoring offences and has checked into The Priory rehabilitation clinic to treat her drink and drug problems.

The star crashed her BMW while double the drink-drive limit after leaving her home to allegedly hunt for drugs during an all-night alcohol and cocaine bender which came after she rowed with Carl.

She then admitted charges of drink-driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance at Crawley Magistrates’ Court.

She could face prison after being charged with driving while unfit to drive through drink, using a motor vehicle on a public place without third-party insurance and driving while disqualified.

Katie was told that her sentencing had been deferred for 11 weeks until December 15 to allow her to have treatment at The Priory and speak to the probation service.

Chair of the bench Julie Hutton told her she could leave but warned her against driving in the interim, saying: ‘You are free to go and good luck at the Priory.’

The crash came after police were called to Katie’s Essex home at around 1.30am on August 23, where a man was arrested on suspicion of assault, theft and coercive and controlling behaviour.

Katie was taken to hospital and was pictured the following day with bruises to her face and an injured lip.

Katie said she was attacked as she watched TV – forcing her to flee in terror to her son Harvey’s nearby home.

In August, shortly after her attack, Katie reportedly told friends she ‘cannot face’ the prospect of a court appearance.

Friends of the mother-of-five reportedly told the Sun that she is ‘mentally fragile’ and ‘cannot face’ a court appearance.
