Shameful and sexist

Helen Flanagan has hit back at mum-shamers after she was criticised for going on holiday to Ibiza without her three children.

The haters need to get a grip. It’s so important to have a break when you’re a parent. If I didn’t have a holiday away from the kids, I think I’d go insane! People need to give it a rest. Helen deserves to let her hair down and enjoy herself.

I doubt if a dad was away on holiday they would get such abuse. There seems to be a clear double standard in society.

Harmless fun

Paris Fury shared a photo of her five-year-old daughter Valencia’s “baby French manicure” on Instagram last week, which was really sweet. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little girl wanting to be like her mummy.

DJ and I always enjoy trips to the nail salon together. My other girls weren’t massively into make-up or beauty when they were younger. DJ will sometimes wear a bit of Vaseline on her lips, but that’s about it.

Girl on tour

Tickets for my tour, No Regrets, are now on sale and I’m so excited. It kicks off next week. I am a little bit nervous – I hope people turn up – but the ticket sales have done really well so far.

I’ll read extracts from my book, Whole Again, and take part in a Q&A. Hopefully, speaking about my life experiences will really help other people. I just want it to be really fun – we’ll have a bit of singing and dancing too. It’ll be a good laugh.

Back to the grind

I’m home from Marbella – and it was straight back to work. Ryan and I had a fantastic time on holiday – it was really nice to get away just the two of us, as we rarely get to do that. We did absolutely nothing and it was brilliant. We really reconnected as a couple.

I’m busy finishing off the Rapunzel panto tour and it’s nice to be back. I’ve missed the cast, but it has been hard getting back into the swing of things. I have DJ with me and my niece too – and I’m shattered!

I was also on Good Morning Britain last week discussing parenting and online trolling. I had a few comments on social media asking how I’m qualified to be a parenting expert. I have five kids and they’ve all turned out alright. Anyway, the comments don’t bother me – I laugh them off.
