Laurence Fox returns to Twitter after three weeks as actors’ union apologises

Laurence Fox has returned to social media after actors' union Equity issued an apology for branding him a disgrace.

The row first erupted when the actor fired back calling a Question Time audience member "racist" for branding him a "privileged white male" in January.

Following his Question Time appearance, organiser Equity called Laurence a "disgrace" in a number of tweets in January.

By February, the 41-year-old announced he would be taking a break from Twitter after he was "shocked" and "depressed" at messages he was being bombarded with.

It's been three weeks of radio silence before Laurence made his comeback to social media coinciding with Equity's apology.

The actor shared a chirpy tweet telling fans he had an update on the fight and bid them to have a lovely day.

It was then announced Equity had done a U-turn to apologise for lashing out at the Inspector Lewis star on social media.

The statement read: "We are sorry that in the tweets he was called a 'disgrace' by Equity.
