Mama June Shannon has joined the ranks of foodie influencers as she took to her Instagram story on Saturday, filming herself in the parking lot of a Popeyes.

The 43-year-old was dressed casually in an oversized pink shirt and pulled her blonde hair back into a ponytail as she urged her 742,000 followers to try Popeyes “strawberry biscuits”.

She shared, enjoying her own biscuit: “Hey guys, y’all know I’ve got to go try the newest sh*t that TikTok made you go buy because your girl is a Popeyes lover and they’ve got these strawberry biscuits.

“I know I’m late to the trend, but I’ve already ate one, but I’ve gotta tell y’all about this s**t.

“These strawberry biscuits are freaking amazing but I will recommend to y’all, that y’all a**es have got to eat them when y’all get ’em from the Popeyes!”

The TV star cautioned her fans not to wait until they’re home to start chowing down, saying they should eat the biscuits “as soon as they hand them to you” for the best taste.

Mama June has been candid about her weight struggles in the past, especially after catapulting to fame on the hit reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which also featured the whole family but focused on pageant starlet Alana, 17, who was just six when the series started.

Following the show’s controversial cancellation in 2014, Mama June received her own spin-off in 2016 after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery and dropping a startling 300lbs (136kg).

However, early last year she admitted she had gained 100lbs since getting sober but claimed she is now happy with her body and how she looked at 240lbs, telling The Sun at the time: “If I lose more weight then that’s amazing.

June’s Popeyes promotion came amid a stressful weekend for the family as the youngest of the Thompson tribe headed for her prom.

Having left the world of pageantry behind, Alana, also known as Honey Boo Boo, is hoping to study nursing once she graduates high school this year, with her mum sharing an insight to her long-awaited prom day.

While filming her “Water of the day” clip for Instagram, Mama June joked: “Hopefully y’all are having an amazing Saturday. Today is prom day for Alana and we’re all running around like a chicken with a head cut off.”
