Megan Thee Stallion & Beyoncé’s ‘Savage’ Tops Rap Songs, Streaming Songs Charts

Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé‘s “Savage” topped the Billboard Hot Raps Songs list dated May 16, earning both singers their first No. 1 in the category.

The track advanced from No. 3, following the first full tracking week after the release of the Beyonce’s remix on April 29.

Megan’s previous best was the No. 5 slot she earned for 2019 hit “Hot Girl Summer,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj.

Beyoncé’s previous best was the No. 2 spot she earned through “’03 Bonnie and Clyde” with Jay-Z.

According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, “Savage” logged 41.2 million U.S. streams in the week ending May 7, up 53% from a week earlier, and was the most-streamed track of any genre. The track notched up the top spots in all-genre Streaming Songs and Rap Streaming Songs charts.

For Megan, this is her first No. 1 on both lists, while for Beyoncé, the song’s rise gives her the first No. 1 on the Rap Streaming Songs list and a third on the overall list. Earlier, “Drunk in Love,” featuring Jay-Z, and “Perfect,” featuring Ed Sheeran had earned her the top spots on the list in 2014 and 2018, respectively.

The song rose 2-1 on Rap Digital Song Sales, logging a 90% jump at 50.000 downloads in the week ending May 7.

“Savage” climbed 4-3 on Rap Airplay, moved up 4-2 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, and pushed 18-14 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart. The song missed out hitting No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, losing out to Doja Cat‘s “Say So.”
