Miley Cyrus & Cody Simpson Are ‘Both Sober’ As They Jump Into Their New Romance!
It truly is sober October!
Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson may have been friends for years, but their recent romance isn’t just a major change for the two of them — it’s also a really good fit for both, considering where each one is in their own lives right now! And these two are proving that staying healthy together can really be great!
Simpson’s manager, Matt Zeidman, got real about it in a statement to People on Tuesday, acknowledging that while both his client and the Wrecking Ball singer certainly had more than their share of fun in years past when they were younger, times have changed now.
Zeidman said (below):
“It is early, but their friendship is long-standing and deeper than people realize. Though they originally met during their own wilder phases, they’re both sober now and are focused on health, work and spending time together. Seems pretty ideal to me.”
Wow! It does indeed seem pretty ideal, to anyone!
It also tracks with something the Flower singer said the other day, too. On Sunday evening, we reported Cody pretty much made things officially official between him and the Slide Away singer — which is adorable — but as you might recall from that reporting, the Australian pop hunk also said this (below):
“ different experience for me. The reason why it hasn’t been a really crazy sudden thing is just because we’ve been friends for so long … we found each other again in a space where we’re both not partying, working real hard, and it just keeps things healthy and it’s good. Any girlfriends I’ve had in the past has always been immediate romance and so it’s a different experience having been friends with somebody before and it developing naturally into something more.”
Yeah, that! That’s the good stuff!

On a much funnier note, Miley is taking heat on social media for re-using filters to show her love again… and again… and again!
The pop princess was called out by one Instagram user for using the same black-and-white hue for three pics of her romances — one each with estranged husband Liam Hemsworth, ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter, and current boyfriend Cody Simpson.

Cyrus’ comment — just a simple “Classic” — pretty much lets you know she knows she’s been caught. LOLz!!
Seriously, though, do U think there’s much to these two finding each other at a particularly mature moment in each of their lives, Perezcious readers?! Will they be able to stand the test of time together, sober and strong, as their relationship moves forward??
