Paul McCartney Working On Musical Stage Adaptation Of ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’

Beatles legend, Paul McCartney is collaborating with playwright Lee Hall and West End theater producer, Bill Kenwright to bring the tasteful magic of the 1946 Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life to the stage.

His first-ever theatrical production, McCartney shared that he found himself thinking that it could possibly be an “interesting and fun” idea to work with.

Hall, who has penned such classics as Billy Elliot and the 2019 Elton John biopic, Rocketman, said he believes McCartney’s “wit, emotional honesty and melodic brilliance brings a whole new depth and breadth to the classic tale.”

Frank Capra‘s original follows the life of a kind-hearted banker, George Bailey, who is taught the utmost value of life by a guardian angel after meeting with a sticky end.

The release date and venue of the production are yet to be revealed.
