Slipknot Working To ‘Determine Next Steps’ After Metallica Tour Postponed
Slipknot, who were scheduled to open for Metallica during 10 concerts on the metal band’s tour of Australia and New Zealand, indicated that they are trying to organize replacement shows after the tour was postponed.
Last Friday, Metallica informed fans that the band is postponing the tour as frontman James Hetfield had to re-enter a treatment program to recover from drug addiction.
Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Rob Trujillo said in a statement that they plan to resume the tour as soon as the band’s health and schedule permits.
Slipknot responded to this with an official statement on Facebook regarding their shows with Metallica:
“To our Australian and New Zealand fans and family,
“We only recently heard the news about the tour being postponed, and we are working as quickly as possible to determine next steps. We will let everyone know as soon as we are able.”
“Of course, our thoughts are with James and Metallica. We wish them nothing but the best.”
The hard metal band end the statement with the hope “to see you all very soon.”
