Stacey Solomon admits she would be devastated if she and fiancé Joe Swash split

Stacey Solomon has opened up about how she would feel if she and fiancé Joe Swash broke up and he went on to find someone else.

The 31-year-old, who recently created a spellbinding light-up flower ceiling using £12 garlands, appeared on Loose Women on Monday 24 May to address the question: "Can you ever truly be happy about an ex moving on?"

After host Charlene White, 40, asked her how she would feel if Joe, 39, found love with another woman, Stacey said: "Charlene, on the outside I would love to say, 'Yes, absolutely, I would be so happy for Joe to meet somebody else and move on,' but on the inside I am 100 per cent cut me open, I'm Linda Robson."

The TV personality went on to explain how heartbroken she would feel about the ordeal as she's in a loving relationship with Joe, who she shares son Rex with.

"I would be so devastated," she continued. "Maybe it's harder to say whether you'd be happy or not when you're in a happy relationship with someone that you love dearly.

"If things weren't going well and I thought he would be happier and I would be happier with other people then I might feel differently."

Stacey, who recently threw her youngest boy an epic Moana-themed birthday party with Shetland ponies, added: "But I'm not in that frame of mind and I adore him and I would be so annoyed if he met someone else."

It comes after Joe revealed how his romantic proposal to Stacey nearly backfired when she mistook his extravagant floral display for a tribute to someone who had died.

Opening up about the day he popped the question, Joe confessed on Celebrity Juice: “To be fair, the proposal was a bit awkward as well.”

He continued to tell funny man Keith Lemon and the rest of the guests that he’d planned a huge flower display to take Stacey by surprise – but she got the totally wrong end of the stick.

Joe explained: “I thought it would be really nice, I thought I’d do it on Christmas Eve and I took her into the forest and I got a lady to put loads of flowers out.”

The ex-EastEnders actor continued: “When I took her through the forest, she see the flowers and she went, 'Aww, I think someone’s died over there,' because there was all white flowers.”

However, Joe continued to tell his team mates, including team captain Laura Whitmore and show regular Maya Jama, that he managed to salvage the situation and continue with his plan.

He laughed as he went on to recall: “I went to her, 'Oh, come on, let’s have a look, pay some respects.'"

Fortunately, Stacey then realised what Joe was up to and he continued with his plan to get down on one knee in the romantic woodland setting, before she said, ‘Yes’.
