The stars of 1,000-lb Sisters share what it's like to be on camera
What prompted you to initially start your YouTube channel?
Amy: Well, it was a way to be creative and to meet new people.
Tammy: To make new friends and make a name for myself.
Was it strange to be followed around by cameras at first when you began shooting your reality show? What was the hardest part to get used to about it?
Amy: Yes, it was hard to get used to the camera around. YouTube you look at the camera, and on TV, you can’t look at the camera.
Tammy: Yes, very strange.
Did either of you have any hesitations about going on national television?
Amy: Yes, there was some hesitation, because it[‘s] scary to put your life out there for the world to see.
Tammy: Yeah, a little bit, but I got used to it.
Are there any parts of your weight loss journey that cameras didn’t show us, but you wish that they did?
Amy: Just the part where we counted our calories.
What were each of your first thoughts when you found out you were renewed for a second season?
Amy: Here we go again. Let the crazy [begin].
What can viewers expect to see later on this season?
Amy: Can’t say. They just have to watch us on TLC and on YouTube.
What’s the ultimate message that you both want viewers to take away from your show?
Amy: We’re just like everyone else. We struggled.
Tammy: That they’re not alone.

What’s been the biggest obstacle for you when it comes to losing weight?
Amy: Giving up sodie was a big deal for me, but I haven’t had one since September 2019.
What has been the scariest part of your weight loss journey?
Amy: For me, it was going under the knife.
Tammy, how did you feel when Amy was approved for surgery in Season 1? Do you wish you could have gone through surgery and recovery together?
Tammy: At first, I was sad, and I got mad, but it was more or less about me, because I didn’t get approved, but then I was happy for her and proud of her.
Amy, what has your pregnancy experience been like?
Amy: Being high risk, there was a lot of trips to the ER, crazy cravings, and overall just really [tired].
How have you kept busy during quarantine? How has quarantine affected your weight loss journey?

Amy: I like pineapple.
