Tana Mongeau and Lil Nas X among celebrities affected by Los Angeles earthquake

Tana Mongeau and Lil Nas X were among the stars caught up in the earthquake that hit Southern California.

The earthquake, of 6.4 magnitude, struck near the city of Ridgecrest, about 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

And, naturally, celebs have taken to Twitter to join in with those that a) felt it and b) have a funny story to go with it.

YouTuber Tana Mongeau genuinely thought that it was her assistant waking her, and not the natural disaster it actually was.

‘I just thought the earthquake was my assistant waking me,’ she said. ‘Nature was my assistant today.’

Meanwhile, Lil Nas X added: ‘I tried to do the bottle cap challenge, and earthquake happen.’

Imagine being so good at kicking a lid off a bottle that the earth literally moved. Skills.

Whilst actress and America’s Got Talent judge Gabrielle Union tweeted: ‘The fact that I experienced that longa** earthquake while on the toilet at the gym… and immediately blamed the celery juice, is about right.’

It’s always the celery juice’s fault, isn’t it?

Songwriter Victoria Monet, who has frequently collaborated with Ariana Grande, has warned others not to blame tequila (out of all things), but to remain safe.

‘Okay I heard there’s another 7.0 earthquake coming in an hour’, she said.

‘LA be careful, and aware that it ain’t the tequila, you need to cover and hold on. Under desk tables or doorways. Be safe.’

And model Justine Mae Biticon had the best response to the situation and joked: ‘It wasn’t an earthquake y’all felt earlier, it was just me throwing this a** back!’

Although an earthquake is always a worrying scenario, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has confirmed that it has found no signs of damage or danger to life in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.

‘We are aware of the significant earthquake that just occurred in SoCal. Please do NOT call 911 unless there are injuries’, they said in a statement on Twitter.

They also further iterated: ‘Please do not call for questions.’
