Former This Morning star Judy Finnigan has hit out at veteran presenter Holly Willoughby ’s lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon.
Bubbly blonde Holly launched her wellness platform in September 2021, and said she’s “always been fascinated by the moon” and wanted to tap into its “feminine” energy and impact. Discussing the venture, she said: “I want Wylde Moon to be a place where we can share the things we love, the lessons we’ve learnt and celebrate other people. I’ve reached a stage in my life where I still don’t fully know who I am. I’ve changed a lot in the last few years.”
But former This Morning presenter Judy is less than impressed with sites like Holly’s, and those of a similar nature. Speaking to Women's Own magazine, Judy said: "Rosamund Pike is scathing about Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop website and claims the whole wellness industry is a con.
"Hurrah! I've been waiting for someone to have a go, not just at Goop but at other 'wellness' websites such as Holly Willoughby's Wylde Moon (not the ridiculous woo-woo spelling, meant to sound elementally female.)"
The popular presenter then suggested some people could be taken advantage of by the wellness industry. She added: "I think we're all being conned by the wellness industry. The idea that it's no longer enough to be healthy and we have to be 'well'… I think it's really dangerous."
On Holly’s site, the venture is described as the star’s “official lifestyle and guidance brand” and encourages visitors “to value reconnecting with yourself and the world around you”.
The description continues: “The pillars of Wylde Moon are about having a true sense of self; igniting your intuition, knowing your self-worth and nourishing your body and soul through music, food, laughter, sex, passion, beautiful things, or all of the above.”
In her latest newsletter for Wylde Moon subscribers, Holly referenced “looking for the ‘glimmers’ of happiness in everyday life”, a concept she said had “warmed her heart”. Expanding on this, she penned: “It can be so easy for your mood to spiral if you only notice the negatives that happen around you”.
She went on to say “in this age of electronic distraction, we are rarely as present as we should be”, which can lead to anxiety and other stresses.
The star continued: “This is why this concept of ‘glimmers’ is so wonderful…it’s so balancing. Taking time to be present and aware of all the brief moments that flood our bodies with happiness has such a positive effect on our mood and wellbeing.
“From opening the curtains to a clear blue sky to the first sip of your morning coffee; from trees heavy with blossom to the bleep of text from a loved one, I urge you to join me in soaking up every little glimmer moment you see. If you can get to the point where the glimmer moments outweigh the trigger moments, you’re sure to feel lighter and brighter.”
The mum-of-three advised her followers to “wipe the slate clean” and “open their minds to endless possibilities”. She urged them to “set clear intentions for both the universe and [themselves]” and signed off by telling readers: “You can achieve anything you set your mind to.”
