It looks like The Bachelorette’s Mike Johnson is a figment of the past for this songstress. Demi Lovato has a brand new love in her life, and she’s gone Instagram official with him. This past year has been incredibly transformative for Lovato. In July 2018, she suffered an overdose after struggling with her sobriety. However, after being hospitalized and going to rehab — Lovato has stepped back into the spotlight, and she looks stronger than ever.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer has been open about overcoming her body image struggles, she signed with new management — music executive Scooter Braun, and she’s started to date again. For awhile, Bachelor Nation fans were rooting for Lovato and Johnson, but it appears that that flirtation fizzled almost as quickly as it began.
However, that hasn’t stopped Lovato from finding love. The 27-year-old just went public with her new relationship. Here’s everything we know about Lovato’s new beau, Austin Wilson.

While we were still trying to figure out how Johnson ruined his chances with Lovato, she was moving on to someone new. Now, Lovato and Wilson have made their love IG official (so you know it’s real.) On her account, the “Sober” singer posted a stunning black and white photo of Wilson giving her a kiss on the cheek. She captioned the pic, “My ❤️…”
For his part, Wilson posted his own PDA-filled snap on his IG page. The pink-hair model took a photo of himself embracing Lovato. Apparently, they’ve already got this couple thing down because they were both dressed matching black. Wilson captioned his pic, “My Love🥰.”

Wilson is a model covered in tattoos. The 25-year-old is also the son of legendary skateboarder George Wilson, one of the Dogtown Z-Boys. The elder Wilson is now a denim designer, which is probably where his son got inspired to step into the fashion industry. Wilson is very close to his father, and each year on Father’s Day, he posts a loving tribute on Instagram. Back in 2017, he wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to the raddest dad! Always been there for me I love you❤️.”

Though we’re not 100% clear on how Lovato and Wilson connected romantically, they were both close to a man named Thomas, who passed away in October 2019 from an overdose. Lovato was devastated by Thomas’ passing. She got a “T” tattoo in tribute to him and said on Instagram,

Likewise, Wilson shared his own tribute to his friend declaring, “RIP bro I love you so much. I’m so grateful for the times that we had while you were here. You are such a special soul. You had the biggest heart and made everyone feel like a million dollars. I know you’re looking down on us now.”
We can certainly see how such a painful event bonded the two.
