Presenter Zoe Ball announced she is leaving Strictly Come Dancing’s spin-off programme It Takes Two. She has presented the show, which is broadcast every weekday evening during Strictly’s run, since 2011.

The BBC Radio 2 Breakfast show host has since spoken out after it was announced that Janette Manrara will replace her on Strictly.

Appearing on tonight’s The One Show with Alex Jones and Ronan Keating, the professional dancer shared the exciting news.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional will work alongside Rylan Clark-Neal to bring fans the latest from behind the scenes of the hit dance show.

Speaking about her new role, Janette said: “It’s a dream come true to become part of the It Takes Two team!

“Although it’s impossible to fill in the shoes of a legend like Zoe Ball, I hope to make her and all of the Strictly fans proud.

“I will miss dancing on that iconic dance floor weekly, but forever grateful to continue being a part of the Strictly Come Dancing family!”

Zoe has since addressed the news as she took to Twitter and congratulated the Latin performer on the big news.

In view of her 376,000 followers, she penned: “SQUEALS of delight at the news the singular sensation, Latin sensation @JManrara will join @Rylan as host on ITT Gonna smash it, gorgeous lady love. Love you.”

Fans quickly flocked to comment on the post, as one wrote: “Delighted to hear ITT will be in such capable hands. Many congratulations to @JManrara. I will miss seeing her dance every week and not certain who will replace her on the dance floor.”

Another said: “Going to miss you so much, Zoe. But huge congrats to Janette, I’m sure she’ll be amazing.”

While a third added: “Going to miss you presenting the show but good luck @JManrara.”

“Sorry to see you go Zoe and I’ll miss Janette dancing,” another added.

Zoe previously addressed her decision to quit Strictly It Takes Two in a candid Instagram post.

She penned: “Dance lovers, after 10 joyous years I am waltzing away from It Takes Two.”

She said it was “time for some new cha cha challenges” and thanked “the whole Strictly clan… I will miss you all immensely.”

Zoe continued to co-present the programme even after she began hosting the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show in 2019.

However, she reduced the number of It Takes Two episodes she presented every week, with Rylan Clark-Neal fronting the programme on certain days in her place.

The presenter also announced that professional dancer Ian Waite, who regularly appears on the show to critique the contestants, would also be leaving the programme after 10 years.

Janette has since made the decision to quit the Strictly dancefloor for her new presenting role.
