Audemars Piguet's Latest Flying Tourbillion Carries a Diamond-Encrusted Carriage
Swiss luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet is no stranger to creating timekeeping masterpieces, and now it has once again taken its Royal Oak Concept to another level with the new Frosted Gold Flying Tourbillon iteration, featuring a diamond-encrusted carriage.
The innovative design begins with a 38.5mm Royal Oak Concept case, which comes in both white or pink gold. The top of the bezel and sculpted lugs have been finished with a frosted effect specially developed in collaboration with jeweler Carolina Bucci, offering a playful textured approach that contrasts elegantly with the polished bezel edge and brushed case sides. Housed inside this unique case is an even more unique dial, made up of a series of concentric ovals in a sunburst gradient blue shade, drawing attention down to the 6 o’clock position where the heart of the watch lies: a flying tourbillon with boasting a carriage encrusted with 19 brilliant-cut diamonds. Finishing off the timepiece is a deep blue alligator strap and a shiny rubber strap in the same tone, perfectly complementing the layered dial.
Available exclusively at Audemars Piguet boutiques for a price of CHF 145,000 (roughly $159,000 USD), the new Royal Oak Concept Frosted Gold Flying Tourbillon is now open for pre-orders. Learn more on the watchmaker’s website.
Elsewhere in watches, MAD Paris has dropped a blacked-out Rolex Datejust 41 with a clean blue dial.
