A MONEY saving mum has revealed how she makes 24 meals for less than £30.

The mum-of-two, Heidi Ondrak, 51, revealed her shopping list and meal plan on her TikTok account, Duchess of Thrift.


In the short clip, she said: "This week's coming in at £28.09 for six days of meals for four people.

"So 24 meals cost £4.68 a day or £1.17 a meal, so let me show you the plan."

Heidi then showed off her meal plan which featured Pizza and chips, sweet potato and chicken curry, Singapore noodles, vegetable pasta, chili con carne, burritos and sausage, mash, and peas.

The thrifty mum then made a column noting all the ingredients she already had at home to ensure she wouldn't buy unnecessary food.

She also listed the ingredients she would have to buy and what food she would be reusing.

For instance, she revealed she'd make one batch of chili and use that for both the chili con carne and burritos/

Heidi then created her shopping list breaking down the ingredients into meat, vegetables, carbs, and seasoning needed.

She added: "I've jotted down and done an inventory of the stuff I've got already in the fridge and the freezer and totted it all up to £28.09.

The frugal mum recommended planning out your meals for the week and using up what you already have at home to keep the cost of your grocery bill down.

The video was a hit with people trying to save money on their food bills.

One wrote: "Can you do this each week!!! I did your list from last week it's amazing!"

Another person commented: "I'm curious does this planning save you from the impulse sweeties or biscuits as you speed through the shop?"
