Meghan Markle is ‘not popular’ in lots of posh social circles because she ‘thinks she’s running the show,’ claims royal author
MEGHAN Markle is “not very popular in a lot of circles” according to a royal author.
Speaking on the CBS News special, Meghan and Harry Plus One, Harry’s biographer Angela Levin said that many felt like she has overtaken the Duke of Sussex.
Speaking on the US documentary she explained: “I think she's not popular in a lot of circles often because they adore Harry and they seem to think that she's running the show.”
The show aired in America, and includes interviews with a number of her friends, including Janina Gavankar and make-up artist Daniel Martin, who helped the duchess on her wedding day.
The show followed Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor being born on Monday May 6, weighing 7lb 6oz.
Janina gushed on the programme that Meghan has longed for her own family for years.
She said: “Meghan and I have talked about her being a mother for over a decade. She's always wanted to be a mum.
“I think it will be – I think she'll be very low maintenance. I think that she will be very hands-on. The way she would have been if she hadn't married into the royal family."
Buckingham Palace released a statement on Friday evening, which said: "The Duchess has not had any involvement in the CBS special, nor has she requested or given permission to friends to participate."
Meanwhile, Meghan’s friend and make-up artist, Daniel Martin broke down in tears as he said that the Duchess was not a diva.
He said: “What’s so frustrating is that you hear these stories and there’s no truth to them.
“It’s not the same person. In the years I’ve known her, the years I’ve worked with her, she’s never had a diva fit, never.
“I think because I know her so well, and I know she doesn’t deserve all this negative press.”
It comes shortly after Levin claimed that Meghan had been warned to respect the “chain of command” in the royal family.
She said officials are trying to manage the couple more effectively, in particular Meghan, who has been seen as ripping up the royal rulebook.
It's thought changes are being made behind the scenes to bring The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in line with the other members of the family, firmly cementing their place in the royal pecking order.
Levin told the Mail: “The intention is to ensure what they do is co-ordinated with the rest of the household so you don't get an Independent State of Frogmore.
“The Royal Family is a very hierarchical organisation. It's the Queen, Prince Charles, the Cambridges, the Sussexes – in that order.
“As the fourth household you have to respect that chain of command.”
In other royal news, the Sun's former royal editor Duncan Larcombe claims that Meghan will have realised that married life to Prince Harry is no fairy tale.
We also revealed how Meghan has been described as a "princess of the UK" on Archie's birth certificate.
And it was revealed that Meghan gave Archie the middle name Harrison as a "tribute to her favourite Beatle".
