Meghan Markle latest news – Spotify shock as Prince Harry & Duchess CAN talk about covid despite Joe Rogan being banned

SPOTIFY have made a shock 'compromise' in order to prevent Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from leaving the music giants.

The Sussexes, who have an £18million podcast deal with the music brand, have been unhappy about 'misinformation on the platform'.

The Daily Mail have revealed that now Spotify have allowed the Sussexes to place Covid information on their Archewell page.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed she'll be looking into labels and stereotypes "that try to hold women back" for her new series Archetypes.

Joe Rogan had previously received huge backlash after it was reported he was spreading anti-vax information on his podcast.

    Ongoing feud

THE ongoing feud between Princes Harry and William has no end in sight due to fears over the contents of the Duke's explosive memoirs

Prince Harry's forthcoming tell-all book is due for publication within the next year, but any further revelations in its pages could further damage his relationship with future king William.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the ToDiForDaily's podcast: "In my view, both brothers were inseparable.

"It's in no doubt that one of the tragedies is that they have taken very different roads.

"The problem is what is going to be in that book."

    Meghan Markle fans rage

The Duchess of Cambridge has yet again been accused of copying her sister-in-law Meghan Markle.

The accusations come from fans of the Duchess of Sussex who have likened pictures of Kate stood under an umbrella on her visit to the Bahamas to those of Meghan and Harry.

One fan of Meghan wrote: “This is such a sad but funny attempt at recreating Meghan’s iconic photo in the rain shot”, before another said: “Willie and dupliKate look terrible- doesn’t even compare to Harry & Meghan’s."

Another said: “Nah! William + Kate – CAN'T DO ANYTHING ORIGINAL for their #RoyalsPanto – always staging copycat Photo-Ops trying to capture the magic of #HarryandMeghan – and Failing.”

Meghan's first solo podcast 'Archetypes' to be released this summer

Meghan Markle's first solo podcast will be released this summer, it has been announced – a year-and-a-half after she and Harry signed an £18million deal with Spotify.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed she'll be looking into labels and stereotypes "that try to hold women back" for the series.

She'll host the show, Archetypes, and interview experts and historians during episodes.

The Sussexes were given a bumper pay-out by the streaming giant back in late 2020.

But in January 2022, The Sun revealed Spotify was taking the project "into its own hands" as content from the couple failed to materialise.

Initially, a "full-scale" launch of shows was promised in 2021. However, the year came and went without any further update.

Bosses then stepped in and began recruiting in-house staff to help.

Prince Edward ‘should have received patronage’ given to Camilla

Prince Edward should have been appointed the patron of the National Theatre, according to a royal watcher.

The co-host of the Royally Obsessed podcast, Roberta Fiorito, said: “I feel like it should have gone to Prince Edward.

“He left the Royal Marines for a career in theatre.

“He left it because he was unsure that that was his life calling and he actually did do a lot with the theatre community — he was an amateur actor for a lot of his life.”

Ms Fiorito also suggested that this move may be a sign of Prince Charles’s plan for a slimmed down monarchy – which is already being put in motion.

She said: “There’s also this talk, probably just rumours, about him not getting the Duke of Edinburgh title when Charles becomes king, that he might not give it to him, so it feels like Charles is already slimming down the monarchy.”

William made 'dig at Harry' with 'not telling people what to do' comment

PRINCE William's comment about "not telling people what to do" was a subtle "dig" at his brother Harry, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Cambridge spoke out amid criticism of his eight-day trip to Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas with the Duchess of Cambridge last week.

In a closing statement, he said the trip had brought into sharper focus “questions about the past and the future”.

And he added: “Catherine and I are committed to service. For us that’s not telling people what to do. It is about serving and supporting them in whatever way they think best, by using the platform we are lucky to have."

Royal biographer Angela Levin suggested the comment was a dig at Prince Harry, who has been a vocal campaigner for causes close to his heart since quitting royal life.

Speaking on Sky News, the author, who previously spent a year with the Duke of Sussex for an authorised biography, said of William's comments: "I think he’s right, I think that worked very well to say what he felt without telling people what to do – which I thought was also a dig at his brother."

Harry has shared his views openly at a number of public speaking events since quitting royal life, as well as talking openly in interviews and as chief impact officer for professional coaching and mental health firm BetterUp.

Parts of Harry legal claim documents to remain secret

A High Court Judge ruled on Thursday afternoon that parts of some documents in Prince Harry’s claim against the Home Office will remain secret.

At a preliminary hearing last month, the High Court in London heard an application by both Prince Harry and the Home Office for some parts of the court documents in the case to be kept private.

The court was told that the Duke and Home Office agreed on what should be redacted from witness evidence.

In a judgement on Thursday, Mr Justice Swift said the bid to redact documents was allowed.

Queen still planning to attend Philip memorial service

The Queen is still planning to attend a thanksgiving service for the life of the Duke of Edinburgh next week, it is understood.

The Queen, 95, hopes to be able to attend the Westminster Abbey service commemorating her late husband on Tuesday, but a final confirmation is likely to be given on the day.

Buckingham Palace has said the event will pay tribute to Philip’s “dedication to family, Nation and Commonwealth”, with the royal family joined by royals from overseas.

On Wednesday the Queen spent the day viewing luxury pieces by the British craftwork firm Halcyon Days at Windsor Castle.

She was due to visit the factory of the company in 2020 to mark its own Platinum Jubilee of 70 years. However, the plans were disrupted by the pandemic and with the Queen now carrying out more engagements from her Windsor residence, the company brought their works to her instead.

The Queen was photographed holding a walking stick but appeared in good spirits, smiling delightedly as she was shown some intricately painted teapots and other items laid out in the White Drawing Room of the castle.

William and Kate to ditch 'the old school' for 'The Cambridge way'

William and Kate will ditch the 'old school' model and run their affairs 'The Cambridge Way' – after their controversial and heavily-criticised Caribbean tour.

The duke was forced to issue a "reflection" on the final day of their trip which was mired in anti-royal protests and social media scorn.

Amid moves in Belize and Jamaica to ditch the Queen and become Republics, Wills gained plaudits after stating the royals will not be "telling people what to do".

Aides are now forging 'The Cambridge Way" after the trip was heavily coordinated by local leaders for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and relied on old school tried and tested methods.

It can also be revealed that William's team were convinced to stand in the back of a Land Rover – in an image which some said harked back to the colonial age – by local army generals who were "proud" of the vehicle and links to the Queen.

The duke was aware of the fury the tour had attracted before issuing his statement on Saturday in which he said the tour had "brought into sharper focus questions about the past and future".

Kate and William are now set to employ a small team working on "comfortable and credible" good causes with shorter solo trips in the future.

An insider said: "The tour was for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and run by the local realms.

"In the future they will do things 'The Cambridge Way' and are trying to work out what that will look like."

Labour leader suggests William could have gone further on slavery remarks

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer suggested the Duke of Cambridge could have gone further in his remarks about slavery during his Caribbean tour.

"He could have gone further," Sir Keir said, but acknowledged "it's a difficult one".

"I think that he may go further in the future."

On LBC radio, Sir Keir said: "William and Kate went on an important trip with important messages, including messages about the changing nature of the Commonwealth going forwards, and that is difficult."

The Labour leader said it was important for the Commonwealth to modernise to strengthen the bonds with the UK.

But he was it was a "bit odd" for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to ride in the back of the same Land Rover that the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh used 60 years ago.

"In a sense what William and Kate were doing – which I applaud – is saying 'we're looking to the future' but that all harked of the past so I didn't quite see how that actually fit that well with the the aim of their trip."

Education Secretary says William issued 'very wise words' on Commonwealth

Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi said the Duke of Cambridge had issued "very wise" words on the Commonwealth.

Asked if it was the beginning of the end for the association of nations, Mr Zahawi told Sky's Sophy Ridge On Sunday: "No, I think it will be the beginning of strengthening the Commonwealth.

"Because I think actually Prince William, and I know he believes deeply in the Commonwealth, is right to say that people have to decide independently if they want to be part of the Commonwealth family and that decision will strengthen the Commonwealth not taking away from it.

"So I think he's being very wise and has chosen his words carefully."

Prince William 'planning huge shake-up of Royal staff'

PRINCE William plans a huge shake-up of royal staff and outdated ideas as he proves he is not a pampered prince.

The Duke and wife Kate will stamp the "Cambridge Way" over future events amid negative publicity surrounding their Caribbean tour which ended at the weekend.

Proving he has his own methods, William plans to have around 70 fewer aides when he succeeds Charles as Prince of Wales.

He will instead nearly halve the estimated 137 staff his dad relies on to create a more cost-effective and less formal team.

Wills and Kate will also employ a small staff working on "comfortable and credible" good causes ? five or six in total.

There will also be shorter, solo trips such as Kate's recent visit to Copenhagen, Denmark, with her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

A source said: "William and Kate will modernise how they work. It's a breath of fresh air.

"They were bruised by attacks that their Caribbean trip harked back to the colonial age. In future they will rip up the rule-book and do things 'The Cambridge Way'. They're trying to work out what that will look like.

"It is not a criticism of how it was done in the past. But times are changing."

Prince Charles on stand-by to read the Queen’s speech if she’s ill

PLANS have been drawn up for Prince Charles to read the Queen’s speech at the State Opening of Parliament if ill health prevents her attending.

Aides have discussed Charles standing in for Her Majesty if she’s forced to miss the annual event on May 10.

He is taking on an increasing number of duties on behalf of the Queen.

Her Majesty has missed only two state openings — in 1959 and 1963 when she was pregnant with the future princes Andrew and Edward.

The Queen, 95, is to confirm her attendance at events on the day, with a family member on call to replace her.

It comes amid issues with her mobility and general health.

Oscars bosses were so keen for Harry & Meghan to present

ACADEMY Awards bosses were so keen for Prince Harry and wife Meghan to present the gong for Best Picture that they approached the couple last year.

Sources told how chiefs pulled out all the stops to make the offer attractive.

A source said: “Netflix were incredibly keen for their two big-name signings to be involved with this year’s Oscars.

“For the first time ever, streaming services, especially Netflix, have a chance of cleaning up and winning some big gongs.

“What better endorsement than for Meghan to be up there on stage?

“Quite a way to justify their £112million salary.

“Meghan is a huge supporter of women, and championing them, so Best Actress was an obvious category for her.

“Sadly, though, as soon as Kristen Stewart got the nod, she couldn’t possibly go on stage and risk handing over an award to the woman who played her husband’s late mother.

    “So that idea was scrapped.”

Prince Charles on 'stand-by' to read MAJOR speech at State Opening of Parliament

PRINCE Charles is on standby to deliver the Queen's Speech at the State Opening of Parliament amid health concerns.

According to reports contingency plans are being prepared by palace and government officials to accommodate her absence should health or mobility issues prevent her from attending.

A royal source told the Sunday Times: "The date is in Her Majesty's diary, and she hopes to attend. The Queen remains fit and active, and it is amazing how much she still does.

"But her diary is being paced to reflect the realities of a woman of her age, and to ensure that she is able to continue to do as much as she can and would like to do.

"All events will now be scheduled so that if Her Majesty is unable to attend at short notice, another member of the royal family will still be present."

The news comes as the Queen has pulled out of a number of key occasions in the last six months due to concerns surrounding her health.

    Meghan Markle latest news

    • Meghan Markle’s sister has said that The Duchess will never compare to the Kardashian family in her attempts to become a television personality.
    • A royal commentator has claimed “there will be outrage” if Harry does attend the Oscars, but does not go to the memorial for the Duke of Edinburgh.
    • Mother's Day holds ‘extra significance’ within the royal family as it ‘is shrouded in sadness for William and Harry’ following the death of Princess Diana.

    Meg's sister takes aim

MEGHAN Markle's sister has said that The Duchess will never compare to the Kardashian family in her attempts to become a television personality.

Samantha Markle has slammed her sister once again, following Prince Harry and Meghan's lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.

The Duchess of Sussexes sister have compared the royal couple to the Kardashian family, who have also launched their own show on Disney+.

Speaking to the Daily Star from her home in Florida, Samantha said: "They're not the Kardashians.

    "That's comparing apples to oranges.

"The Kardashians were an American business empire and everyone knows their background."

She added: "If you mean by the Kardashians by just wealthy, there are so many wealthy families.

"I don't think they would be the right comparison."

Meghan Markle’s friend blasts palace ‘diversity’

Meghan Markle’s close friend Omid Scobie has tried to blame diversity in the Palace for pictures of the Cambridges greeting Jamaican fans in front of a fence.

Scobie lashed out at The Firm for not ‘avoiding certain imagery’, as pictures of Kate Middleton and Prince William emerged showing young Jamaicans watching a football match from behind a fence.

Meghan’s close friend took to Twitter to express his anger at the Cambridges’ staff, saying: “I do wonder what the hell palace organisers were thinking with some of yesterday’s photo moments.

“The planning and recon that goes into every step of these engagements is next level, so how did no one think to avoid certain imagery?”

The author, who co-wrote Finding Freedom, added on Twitter: “This is why diversity on a team matters.”

The royal tour of the Caribbean could have been a real hit… for Harry and Meghan

This is a comment piece by Tony Parsons

WILLIAM and Kate’s awkward royal tour of the Caribbean could have been a roaring triumph . . . if Harry and Meg had done it instead.

If only the Palace had just slapped some factor 50 on Harry’s bald spot and told Meghan she was about to play the role of a lifetime.

That royal yacht has sailed, of course. Harry and Meghan will — disgracefully — not even attend Tuesday’s memorial service for Prince Philip at Westminster Abbey.

Imagining them doing a gruelling meet-and-greet all over the Commonwealth is just a crazy dream.

But seeing William and Kate looking uncomfortable in the Caribbean was a reminder of the historic opportunity that has been lost for ever.

    Read more here.

Harry warned of ‘outrage’ if he attends the Oscars

A royal commentator has claimed “there will be outrage” if Harry does attend the Oscars, but does not go to the memorial for the Duke of Edinburgh.

Appearing on Australian morning show Sunrise, Angela Mollard said: “There’s a lot of talk it’s going to go ahead but can you really turn up and stand on the stage at the Oscars and not turn up for your grandfather’s memorial.

“I’ve got a problem with that.

“You do all the glory and handshaking with the celebrities but your own family.”

Meghan & Harry ‘perfect’ for Caribbean tour

Meghan and Prince Harry would have been more successful than Kate and Prince William had they carried out their recent tour to Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas, a royal commentator has claimed.

Commentator and author Tony Parsons wrote in The Sun: “If only the Palace had just slapped some factor 50 on Harry’s bald spot and told Meghan she was about to play the role of a lifetime.

“That royal yacht has sailed, of course.”

Speaking about the potential of having the Duke and Duchess of Sussex touring the Caribbean he added: “Imagining them doing a gruelling meet-and-greet all over the Commonwealth is just a crazy dream.

“But seeing William and Kate looking uncomfortable in the Caribbean was a reminder of the historic opportunity that has been lost for ever.

“William and Kate did their very best. But the bitter truth is their Caribbean tour would have been a perfect gig for Harry and Meghan.

“Woke yet glam, caring yet charismatic, their eyes shining with compassionate tears, Harry and Meghan would have been living, multi-racial proof the Royal Family are not some milky white leftover from ancient history.”

Meghan's sister slams her AGAIN – comparing failed TV attempts to Kardashians

MEGHAN Markle's sister has said that The Duchess will never compare to the Kardashian family in her attempts to become a television personality.

Meghan to 'pull in big guns' for new podcast

It has been claimed by a royal commentator that Meghan Markle will "pull in the big guns" for her new podcast, Archetypes.

Meghan Markle announced the launch of her latest project earlier this week, and it will explore the impact of stereotypes and typecasting on women around the world by interviewing experts, historians and women who have experienced being typecast.

Russell Myers, royal editor at the Daily Mirror told Pod Save The Queen on Thursday that the Duchess will “pull in the big guns” for the podcast.

He said: “This is going to be huge because she will pull in the big guns.

“You would imagine that she will have lots of very powerful, famous women and women who have overcome adversity to rise up through the ranks in whatever industry and field that they have become successful in.

      “I think it’s hugely exciting.”

Prince William beats Harry for 'most attractive' royal eyes

Prince William, 39, and Prince Harry, 37, have topped the most attractive male celebrity lists for years. The two Princes’ eyes have been compared by eye experts at Lenstore.

A spokesperson for Lenstore told Express.co.uk: “Prince William is revealed to have the third most attractive eyes among males in the public eye.

“This is according to the UK public.

“Nearly one in 10 (nine percent) of respondents in Lenstore’s survey found Prince William's eyes the most attractive.

“This is out of the numerous options of influential personalities presented to them,” the expert claimed.

“Prince William has bright blue eyes.

“21 percent of respondents in Lenstore’s survey revealed they find blue eyes the most attractive.

“So perhaps it’s not so surprising that Prince William’s eyes top the list for most attractive male celebrity eyes.

“This is despite just 4 percent voting him as the most attractive male celebrity overall.

“When asked what characteristics each set of eyes indicated to the respondent, Prince William's eyes correlated most with ‘humble’ (9.7 percent), ‘caring’ (11 percent) and also ‘sad’ (13.85 percent).”
