Mum makes a headless ghost Halloween costume for her daughter, and it was completely FREE – The Sun

A MUM has revealed how she managed to make a headless Halloween costume – for absolutely nothing.

Making, rather than buying, an outfit for your kids is growing in popularity, and parents have been pulling out all the stops.

Making one yourself can sometimes work out cheaper, if you use what you’ve already got around your house.

Mum Sam, from Essex, shared how she created a decapitated look, simply by sacrificing an old dress, using some newspaper, a paper plate and a cereal packet.

She shared a snap of her daughter holding her own head on a plate, covered in blood, to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

Sam said: “Thought I'd post my daughter's Halloween outfit which basically cost me nothing.

“Used an old dress of mine.

"A paper plate I had left over from a previous kids party.

“Some kids acrylic paint. A cereal box and some newspaper.

“Cheap as chips and looks amazing, if I do say so myself!”

Her DIY costume has racked up more than 14,000 likes –  with parents taking note of the cheap look.

Desperate to know how she made it, one parent theorised the arms were stuffed with newspaper, the cardboard from the cereal packet was used to make the dress stand up, and the plate was tucked around her chin, before being finished with fake blood.

Praising the outfit, one person said: “Bloody amazing!

“You should be extremely proud.”

Someone else wrote: “I’ve seen a costume like this n wondered how to go about it!!! You’ve done a great job.”

A third said: “Brilliant looks so realistic well done.”

Somebody else commented: “Fantastic!! This does look awesome!”

This mum wrote: “That’s fantastic. I need to remember this one for my daughter next year.”

And this person added: “Wow that’s creepy.”

And this mum transformed her son into a terrifying Pennywise the clown.
