My neighbour has demanded I don't use my garden because it's ruining his view – I'm fuming | The Sun
THERE’S nothing more awkward than having an argument with a neighbour, and then constantly have to see them every time you step out of your front door.
Well, one mum has been left extremely frustrated after her neighbour demanded that she and her family stop using the lower half of their own garden – because it is ruining his view.
The woman took to Mumsnet to explain the situation and revealed that the houses in her area are positioned in such a way that her neighbour's house backs onto her garden, and there is one window in the neighbour's property that looks out onto her garden.
The mum claimed that her neighbour initially asked her to stop using the bottom half of her garden because it "affected his privacy" when he was using the room with this window in.
So the woman took matters into her own hands, and put up a tall screen so that she could continue using her garden.
But following this, the woman explained that the neighbour complained again – this time because he "wanted the view of her garden back".

I closed a door in my neighbour’s face after he complained about my kids
In a post on Mumsnet, the mum said: "We live in a house where two separate streets meet and have adjoining gardens.
“The back wall of our neighbour's house is the boundary wall to our garden.
“Our neighbour asked us not to use the bottom part of our garden as it affected his privacy when he used this room.
“So we put a screen up so we could use our garden privately and the neighbour has complained that it affects his light and wants the view of our garden back.

Many Mumsnet users pointed out that the woman is entitled to use the entirety of her garden as she wishes and shouldn’t listen to her neighbour.
One person said: "No, he is unreasonable! Use your garden however you like."
Another added: "Someone’s view doesn’t take priority over someone’s actual land! Tell him to bugger off."
