Take a 360-Degree Tour of the 20 Most Iconic Costumes From The Crown and The Queen’s Gambit
Episode after episode, The Queen’s Gambit and The Crown have delivered with elegant costumes that have left us wishing we could explore the wardrobe department just for a day. In partnership with the Brooklyn Museum, Netflix has created a virtual costume exhibition that shows off 20 of the most iconic outfits from the shows, including Princess Diana’s stunning wedding dress.
The self-guided 3D tour, open from Oct. 30 to Dec. 13, specifically takes a 360-degree look at Beth Harmon and Queen Elizabeth’s most memorable fashion moments from the shows. Fans of the The Crown will also get a sneak peek at what Gillian Anderson wears as Margaret Thatcher in season four of, which airs on Nov. 15. Clicking on an outfit gives you the opportunity to zoom in on small details, watch clips from the shows to see the outfit on screen, and read up on the costume’s history, including the fabric it’s made out of and who designed it. (For anyone wondering, Princess Diana’s dress is made of silk tafetta with a lace trim.)
The exhibit is also accompanied by a virtual panel discussion moderated by costume designer Ruth E. Carter, who gives behind-the-scenes insight on each outfit alongside Brooklyn Museum Curator Matthew Yokobosky. Take a closer look at some of the most elegant costumes from the shows ahead, and take yourself on a tour of all the outfits from The Queen and The Crown: A Virtual Costume Exhibition here.
